  1. Everyone has echoed some of my thoughts. I asked my wife if I should have tossed it around the asphalt a bit first.
  2. That is the only thing I did not do, I bought 2 one to keep and one to release. TBs it seems is the way to go. But I won't lose faith just yet.
  3. How long does it take to get over that feeling of pride and ownership of something that you are willingly sending out to the world. My kids and I went to a GPS Maze exhibit and bought a coin to send out. We wanted to find the "right" cache and feel we did. But I'm feeling contradicting emotions. Anticipation of living vicariously through the coin and remorse for buying such an item and just "giving it up". I know better, and eventually it should come home, but does it get easier?
  4. Wow I wish I had a creative side. I checked out your sites and I love the scarab too.
  5. Invite/addy request sent. This looks like fun. Noob here and I want to get me and my boys involved in something that doesn't require a game console or TV... Thanks to the organizers.
  6. I ran into your blog via another social site. It definitely inspired me to make my own swag. I have started "production" and I have a small quantity of what I believe are quality items. I'm now working on some form of id/business card to include with the items.
  7. Hello Starcraft007, I am in the same boat. Very new and enjoying it so far. Good luck.
  8. Hi Sarah! I'd like to welcome you as well but I am just as new with only 5 or so finds. Good luck on the trails.
  9. Off hand, I'd say a different audience would provide different insight to the query. And by different audience I mean the group of people that go "dormant" during the winter, such as myself. I didn't think about geocaching in February, But I have recently... Mcpat12, as I am just beginning in the hobby I have found that Micro and Nano caches are not as enticing and probably not the best to pique interest or curiosity. Don't get me wrong I enjoy any success in finding a cache, but it would be fun to find more than a log rolled into the only space available. Also if the above answer to your question is any indication of the quality of advice that individual provides, avoid it altogether.
  10. Hello, Rabid_Dingo here. I've been passively Geocaching since the end of last summer. By passively I mean I have two young kids that I want to get out with and do fun stuff. But the youngest one is only 2. So soon enough, as Spring comes around full circle we'll get out there. the older brother likes treasure hunting and I keep it real with collecting geoswag for our adventures. That way he knows what to expect. We visited a geo maze/GPS exhibition hosted at a local museum. I bought a couple of coins and activated one to send out. The GPS exhibit rekindled a desire to geocache. Cheers.
