  1. Ok that was my mistake. I didn't select a day. I always wondered why sometimes the PQ thing would send an email, but usually it wouldn't. There are no .loc files on the gps, but there is one gpx file of a cache where I clicked "send to gps.
  2. I downloaded the PQ and just got a .loc file. Is that what I need? Where are all the gung ho obsessed GPSr users when you want/need instant gratification LOL.
  3. So I won a new etrex10 at the Berkshire Geobash which is totally awesome, because the gps I had died. How do I put caches on this thing? thanks in advance!! Kara
  4. I admit that I love the drama too, especially now that I understand some of what it's about, but here, on these forums, you represent the geocaching community worldwide. I'm sure there are better places for all the complaining.
  5. Every once in a while, I come to the forums and read. I wanted to become a poster here when I was a newbie (ya know like 25 finds), but I saw a lot of posts about the horrors of phone cachers, so I figured I would not be very welcome here. I acquired a old GPSr, but it broke, so I am back to phone caching. And then, every time I come here, there are posts about people getting banned. If you want to be more beneficial, there needs to be less drama.
  6. I am saving for a nice, new GPS, but being a single mom of 4 kids, it's a little slow. In the mean time I've been using my phone. However, I got my step father to lend me his gps for a little while. He doesn't geocache, so it's not like he needs it LOL. Anyway, I am trying to figure this thing out and I know somehow I can manually enter a waypoint, but I can't figure out how to get it to even be a little bit paperless. Is it possible or is it too old? Garmin refered to mapsource as "legacy" which to me means, old, outdated, and unsupported. Thanks for any help you can give! Kara
  7. What do you guys put? I admit to using TYFC sometimes, but that is when it is a run of the mill cache in a location that doesn't jazz me and the contents are dry. I'd bet TNLN came with iPhones too. How about FTF?
  8. There is a video about finding your first cache. I wish there was one about trackables too!
  9. I'm a noob. I only have about 22 caches logged. Every cache I've found hasn't had anything really good in it and I don't usually bother to take anything. I'd like some ideas to improve the caches I find. Thanks Kara
  10. I'm very happy to see this. My 5 year old can't walk without a walker, so caching requires her chair, but I usually go when she is at school when it's a place I've never been.
  11. How about including a note with the trackable telling the newbie how to track it?
