  1. No ideas then ! Oh, shame. Does Marty not get the DING, then? Yeah he should do really. The full answer is a bit much to ask.Gary Oldmans girlfriend at the time,Issabella Rossellini made an anagram of the italian phrase for "my sister" and came up with Laila Morse.
  2. How did "Laila Morse" (real name Maureen Oldman and the sister of Gary Oldman) get her screen name?
  3. DING! Which one relates to looking down? (I should have said that Mr F gave our answer, I just typed it! He seems to remember trivia.) Q: A few days ago, Nicola Benedetti gave a wonderful rendition of whose violin concerto (No. 1 in G minor) at the Last Night of the Proms? This is Bruch(sp?)(brook) just before half time.Brilliant evening .Said it a few times before, but im definately gonna go next year
  4. Theres another specific link between John Sullivan and the phrase "Only Fools and Horses"before him writing the bbc series of O.F.A.H.
  5. Last one from me on this subject.Apart from the bbc series "only fools and horses",what is the other connection between this phrase and John Sullivan?
  6. Jim Broadbent was up for that role I believe, so were a few others... Kerching!!! Well done.
  7. Which actor was the first choice of David Sullivan to play the part of Delboy in Only Fools & Horses, but refused it as he thought it had no longevity?
  8. Depends on who's account you put your faith in.Evelyn says between none and eight,Pepys puts it at six i think.
  9. You will find the answers for this type of question if you read through the Guidelines: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.book&id=11'>http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.book&id=11 You really should read the Guidelines a few times before considering hiding caches. Lots more information can be found in the Help Center: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.book&id=1 As much as you want to be. If you want people to actually find your caches, you might want to think about just how "devious" it should be. Or you will run the risk of getting a lot of DNF's, which will require you to run out and make sure the cache is still there. Personally, I don't waste a lot of time on "devious" hides. I'll look around for a while, read the hint, and if I still can't find it, I'll move on. I really can't be bothered spending more than 20 minutes on one cache. If it's a micro, then my patience is even more limited. But that's just me. Other people like these types of hides. B. Thanks for the advice and the link.I've no real intention of hiding any caches yet,i'm just airing some thoughts for future reference. Cheers.
  10. Yeah i know im a pest but here goes.Firstly is there a set minimum distance between caches? ie: if you've found a good spot to hide a cache but there's another one already in place nearby(50,100,500 meters?)Secondly, when hiding a cache how devious and cunning should you be? Cheers
  11. I'm afraid i've got some more questions for you all. What to do with the items in a cache? Do you keep them as a of momento of your find or are they passed on from one cache to the next? Whats the etiquette of replacing a found cache if your being watched? At one point today i had found a cache but before i could replace it, the area was filled with hoards of screaming kids that were paying a lot of attention to what i was doing.Would it have been acceptable to go for a wander for a while(with the cache) until the kids lost interest in what i was doing and disappeared again and then replace it? Cheers Tel
  12. Well i downloaded C:GEO onto my phone (samsung ace)and i've been out for a few hours today.Couldnt find my first cache despite"knowing" i was in the right place and spending 15 minutes searching for it.Getting frustrated so had a sit down for about 3 minutes, went through all the information on my phone again before noticing that the cache had been reported missing a month ago.Next 2 i found easily enough but the 4th one was a nightmare. Spent 20 minutes going over and over the same spot with no luck even though it had been found yesterday. As to the phone i had it seems to work very well.Good pinpointing and directions and after 3 hours i'd only used about 1/3 of the battery life. Need to take some gloves with me next time as i've got a few scratches on my hands and the remains of a dead snail up my fingernails All in all an excellent few hours.I'm definately hooked. Thanks again for all the advice.

There is a UK and Ireland side to these forums here > linky feel free to come over and join us, any questions welcomed over there, especially if UK related! Thanks to all
  14. Hello B.A.R. I've been looking at some G.Z.'s (?) close to my home and i think i stand a fair chance of finding them with the hints & i now realise that there may be a fair bit of "crawling about in the undergrowth" (done in my best David Bellamy voice). It appears that i may need to download an APP for my phone, could you reccomend one(cheaper the better).I'm based in Dagenham ,Essex. I'm really itching to get out tomorrow and have a go. Please stand by for more questions. I fear i may be hooked already. Mother please send more money
  15. Hello all. I've started to become interested in geocaching in the last few months and i've been lurking on some forums for a while. Now i think i wanna get involved. First off, the equipment. I've got a Samsung Galaxy ace2 phone,is this good enough to use or will i need a dedicated device? Also what other gear will i need to take out with me?(i've read of people taking seperate camera's, mirrors, voice recorders an all sorts) Secondly i need an idiots guide to getting started.I dont actually know anyone thats involved with geocaching so all of my knowledge(or lack of) has come from looking on t'interweb. Well that'll do for starters. All advice greatly appreciated. Cheers Tel.
