  1. GPO #76 is now opened in Copley, Ohio (Next to Akron) ~Earthy5000
  2. Hay, everbody I am right now stuck in a small town in easten TN called greenville. This is a twon whare the internet is hard to come by. Also The conection I am on right now is bad, so I will make this short. Just to let you all know I will be back in Ohio, with my normal internet conection by Sunday Afternoon Aug. 27 2006. So there will be lots updates then. Thanks to all who have voluntered to place a cache in the last few days! I will get in tuch shortly. hay if any one out there is new to this thread please find a president you can hide a cache for! I will be back online on Aug. 27 2006 at 9PM EST!
  3. Wanted: One puzzle genius - Who wants to be responsible for creating the puzzle to go with this? What info needs to be placed in each cache etc. Once we have the list of willing participants, you will need to be the one responsible for getting them the info they need to include in their cache and will be the mastermind behind creating the puzzle. HELP WANTED - Is there a web designer out there that would be willing to put together a simple but elegant HTML template that we can use for the pages for each of these caches? I want visitors to the pages to know what this is all about. -LETS DO THIS THING!!!
  4. Thank you NH geobear for taking Calvin Coolidge, you can have him! In regards to your question, It will work! The general geocaching rule of thumb is, no more then 100 miles.
  5. Thank rogueleader for taking Woodrow Wilson! you can have him! In regards to your question, so far there is no deadline, we would like to get a few more volunteers before we start placing them. Also, have you seen the web pages for "cache across America?" They, all fallow the same format, I would like to do the same thing, just dot have the web designer yet. Know any one that might will willing to do such a task?
  6. :dram: Hay, every one here is an updated list, on who has what president! we are do doing well! We only have 32 more to go!!!! So if you live by any of these presidents, and if we dont have some one to hide it, feel free to take it! Thanks goes out to all our new hiders!!!!! Thanks Solid-Rock-Seekers for taking Franklin Pierce! Thanks JLTx2 for taking Jimmy Carter! Thanks Webscouter for taking Truman! Thanks Wimseyguy for taking Andrew Johnson! News flash! we have our first cache placed! in Georgia by JLTx2 , for Jimmy Carter! That means we need to come up with a uniform cache, page (we should say a type of uniform style) on the internet just like "Cache across America". For example, each paige will have the same general facts, a picture, and some room at at the bottom so hider can place anything els he wants, also it leveas the dore open for creativity! Dont start hiding caches yet, until we are about down to 10 presidents left. Thank you Last When I talk about "Resemblance" I mean they have to look Presidential on the inside. They can be any size, because I understand, hiding a regular cache in down town New York City might be nearly impossible! If you want to place an ammo box then all means place and ammo box, but if all you can place is Micro that's cool too! Just as long as the inside of cache looks the same. what I mean by that is, decorate it a bit and put stares and stripes around the walls. Also it dose not matter what size of log book you have, as long as it has a picture, and interesting common facts about the president. **Important** But dont do that yet. we should have some one design A uniform log page, that way each log book has the same facts as from csche to cache. Would any one like to step up to the plate? Now for the presidents George Washington (1789-1797) Fredericksburg, Virginia John Adams (1797-1801) Quincy, Massachusetts Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809) Alemarle (county) Virginia James Madison (1809-1817) Port Conway, Virginia James Monroe (1817-25) Westmoreland (county) Virginia John Quincy Adams (1825-29) Quincy, Massachusetts Andrew Jackson (1829-37) in the Waxhaw settlement (on the border of NC & SC )South Carolina Martin Van Buren (1837-41) Kinderhook, New York William Henry Harrison (1841) Berkeley plantation in Charles city (county) Virginia John Tyler (1841-45) Greenway, Virginia James K. We are going to need each of all caches to look the same. each cache will have to have some information portioning to the president and why he was born there. ** If you are confused this is a series of caches pertaining to the "birth place" of each president, these caches will hopefully lead to one last cache in washington D.C! *** more info to come! ~Earthy5000
  7. It was vary wrong for that cacher to right that stuff in a log book! fist off a log book is only supposed to used for shot stories about finding the cache. Having sex sounds like it has nothing to do with finding a cache to me. That is too much information! Especially since we have cachers of all ages. people should not be righting that privet stuff down. He should keep his own sexual thoughts to himself, and not in the log book!
  8. What do you al think? should we one for the presidential burial sites as well?

  10. Why? That way, there is some resemblance of each cache in the series, If some one wishes to find them all, then it is nice to have some likeness in each cache. Thats what makes it a "series" specifically a national series! It cool to have them all look the same, that way when some one finds it they know it is not just an ordinary cache.
  11. Hay, CacheNcarryMA, just making sure are you intrested in placing One for John Adams and John Quincy Adams.
  12. Thank you BRTango, for adding the list of presidents that is just what we need! Dont for get to pick a president, we still need 40 more..... George Washington (1789-1797) Fredericksburg, Virginia John Adams (1797-1801) Quincy, Massachusetts Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809) Alemarle (county) Virginia James Madison (1809-1817) Port Conway, Virginia James Monroe (1817-25) Westmoreland (county) Virginia John Quincy Adams (1825-29) Quincy, Massachusetts Andrew Jackson (1829-37) in the Waxhaw settlement (on the border of NC & SC )South Carolina Martin Van Buren (1837-41) Kinderhook, New York William Henry Harrison (1841) Berkeley plantation in Charles city (county) Virginia John Tyler (1841-45) Greenway, Virginia James K. 13. Ok, putting the final cache, next to the white house my not be such a good idea, how about putting it some where around the city, itself. dont where, but I think we will be able to find a spot. Thank you, for taking Grover Cleveland you can have him! I will let you know when you can start placing it. all we need to do is get this forum off the ground! So fare we sill need 39 more!
  14. Would it not be cool if we could place a cache near every Presidential Home/ Library in the United States of America? Call it cache through the Mystery of U.S history or something? have a sires of caches with in each location captaining information and photos about each president! We could have the final cache near the white house in Washington D.C! I think lurning about the History behind every US President can be quit interesting and fun too, and If we had a cache system through history, it would also increase and motivate more people to "Cache across America" solving the 50 state multi cache. This would bring cache in to the light of history. We could bring History back to life Grounspeak, Geoching style! In other words this could be a complicated puzzle only solved by visiting all 42 Presidential caches, and the final one could lead up to Washington D.C! Do I have any volunteers are takers would like to place a cache around a presidential historical home. (Dont place it on the property unless you get explicit information first from the society that owns it, we have to be careful here when dealing with historical places, we can not place a cache on or too close to any of the home steds or other historical sights, it is the regulations) If this dream is to become a reality, I need all the help I can get! I will take 20th. President James A Garfield In Mentor Ohio 25th. President William Mckinley In Canton Ohio I still need 41 more........
  15. This is a vary cool idea! I think I will Start a Geo Post Office Center in Akron, Ohio! I think we could have two different kinds of Geo post offices, one that sends and receives mail. The second kind a "Center" that speeds the process up, These centers can be by major hi-ways, near major cites, or tourist destinations that way people travailing long distances can move the mail closer to it destination faster. We should try this and place a cache in every major around the world starting in North America. (A city with more then 25,000 people) Then we could have "hub" offices in the "middle of no where" at rest stops and in small towns. Tell me what you think of this thought. We could have Geomail!!! Send things from AZ to PA and have fun doing it!
  16. I am writing this in reading to your dilemma today with your project, Keystone said you should place your last one first. In reality I think the best way to pull this off right is to work with Groundspeak. We are pioneering I new idea here that has the possibility of becoming a reality. If this is pulled off right we could be introducing a whole new cache type here, which in the long run would be better for the whole geocahing community. None of these caches really cannot work as independent caches, because each it depend on anther like a puzzle cache. This is not your traditional puzzle either cache because the guidelines state that no more then two miles should be driven to make it sufficient to be a puzzle cache. I think it would be cool to have all 51 caches unified as one big cache on Grounspeak.com, in other words you would be able to them find individually, as if they were individual but each one would be unified under one web page on Groundspeek. Thus the computer would already know what percentage of the cache across America cahe, the person has found. In other words people from around the country could view this and race to find all 50, this better inform the rest of the community on what exactly is going on. People would find out faster this way and the general cache public would greatly appreciate it! It would be cool see on your states a symbol of the United States along with the amount hidden and found. It would be like wining a metal of participation after running a long marathon if this is to work I would take keystones suggestion and introduce a totally new cache to grundspeak. Who knows maybe one day we be caching the world in search for a cache in each country. Just a thought I hope you take this idea in to consideration. What your doing here is vary special and I want this to succeeded. This is something the whole cache community can benefit from and is not an idea you stumble upon everyday! -Thanks earthy5000, hope this helps you, with your vary special and unique project
  17. Hay I’ve just learned of this special cache a few days a go, and I think the idea is really neat! I hear you still need some one to come up with a puzzle. I would be willing to do it I have some great ideas. Also I think the final cache should not be in a said place. If we place a final cache and tell everybody where it is, then will cache loses its special aurora. Plus it runs lines of being muggled we should contact Groundspeak and tell them about our idea and maybe they would introduce the 50/50 cache type. In which they give the waypoint for the first cache in Washington D.C. Where a box with special forms inside would be placed. This form would consist of 51 Boxes a place for each stamp from all 50 states. (Which could also be obtained online for those who what to start there journey, but not in Washington D.C) In other words each cache would contain its own identity in a stamp or sticker, This way one can prove that they have been to all 50.This would get rid of the need fr photes of proof. Kind of like a gigantic letterbox. Once one would have 50 stamps one could mail it to a special address where, some one could look over document and see if each stamp is authentic. After that he could mail a certificate back with the way point for the final cache. I think the final cache should be not by any major city, but in place is ouside the 50 states. For example Portico would be a fantastic place for a final cache. It is out side the 50 states and it is island. Thus, it would br a great final adventure to conclude the series! This would give the series s a total of 52 caches with a beginning and a grand finale. It may take years for some one to visit them all, but I would not be surprised if some found them all in the first two years. As for the puzzle, I am willing to put one together for this! I just need some back round info on the towns where all 50 caches owners plan to place their caches. Any comments email them to earthy5000@yahoo.com
