  1. 6 - As above plus mountain rescue and mines rescue.
  2. It's possible to view archived caches with Project GC. If you let me know the approximate coords, I'll have a look tonight.
  3. I'd add first of a well-known series to the list - e.g. first SideTracked cache, first Church Micro, etc. - if the series is well established and been around a long time.
  4. England is correct of course. Ding to colleda...
  5. Hope no-one objects if I give this thread a reboot. A really tricky one - which team won the World Cup in 1966? (Googling allowed!)
  6. Ding to speakers-corner. The songs were Back Home and This Time (We'll Get it Right).
  7. Ok, changing the theme... Which group had a British number 1 hit in 1970, and a number 2 hit in 1982, despite the entire line-up changing between times? Bonus points if you can name the hits!
  8. I'm getting my authors confused - Philleas Fogg was Jules Verne.
  9. HG Wells? Philleas Fogg for the low cloud, and the Invisible Man as no-one. Don't know about a master key though, unless there's a skeleton in one of his books.
  10. I'll take a guess at Roald Dahl, as the creator of many unusual characters.
  11. Well I think I've stumped you on this one, so I'll give you the answer, which is that the authors (CS Lewis, Aldous Huxley and John F Kennedy) all died on the same day - 22 November 1963. I'll give the ding to hal-an-tow for identifying two of the authors. I wasn't expecting anyone to identify JFK as the author of the third book, but I thought that the coincidence of their deaths was a fairly well-known bit of pub quiz trivia, so I thought people might work it out by connecting Lewis and Huxley. However it's always difficult to judge what other people know, so if I made it too hard I apologise! Over to hal-an-tow...
  12. Very wide of the mark I'm afraid. A bit more information - A Nation of Immigrants was written by John F Kennedy.
  13. Good guess, but wrong. But you've got the right authors (hint).
  14. What do the books That Hideous Stength, Brave New World and A Nation of Immigrants have in common?
  15. White is the obvious answer. Unless this is a trick question, and a traditional Oreo doesn't have a filling...
  16. Not sure if it's related to the latest release, but when using the app for a cache earlier, I couldn't get a "open cache in browser" link. Is this a bug or intentional?
  17. Thanks. "What the Romans Did For Us" was a TV programme on BBC2 a few years ago. Who presented it?
  18. What is the only British city to have hosted the British Empire Games/Commonwealth Games on more than one occasion?
  19. Ding! The height of 51.6m (169ft) is actually 4.4m (14ft) less than originally thought, but it was re-surveyed in 2006 during renovation. Incidentally, in case there's allegations of cheating, colleda messaged me to say they'd found the height on the website. My view was that as they hadn't gone actively searching for the information, it was ok to post. After all, it's only for fun! So, over to colleda...
  20. No-one's close enough yet. I'll accept 3m/10ft either way.
