I have a Quest1, I have loaded into it right now, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, parts of Wyoming and parts of western canada. I was just short of filling the memory. I use it for geocaching (in and out of the car) Work, I deliver freight to all those states and use it to look up addresses and can not imagine work without it. VERY rugged unit. I would get the Quest1 just because you get the map disc with it and can use it with another GPS unit.

Dropped My Meridian Platinum In The Porta-john.
magking1971 replied to RockyRiver's topic in General geocaching topics
I am working as a finish carpenter now and one day I had to borrow my bosses tape measure for a bit, well nature called and had to use the porta john. I learned to make sure the lid is closed before you do anything because the tape fell off my pocket and right into the toilet with a loud splash. I made it the rest of the day without him asking for it back. -
You guys left THIS coin out of the list. (shhhhh)

I have a idea for a cache that would use a GPS signal jammer (small, very low power) and was wondering if the jammer would be legal to use for it or if I would run into problems with any “official” folks. I don’t live around any military bases or airports and the jammer signal would not be over a 1/2 to 1/4 mile range (or less, it is adjustable) I have the plans just sitting here ready to be put together but thought I would ask first before I put some work into it. The cache idea would be a night cache that during the day the jammer would be on and at night it would turn off, Or make it a puzzle that when you got close to it you would need clues to find it (give spot on cords but they would be useless) Thanks for any help!

I will also take 2.

My Adventures Is Shopping For A New Gps Unit.
magking1971 replied to magking1971's topic in GPS technology and devices
I am using the basic cheapo Garmin mount, It is on a duelsport motorcycle and have driven on and off road many miles. For the Mt bike it has had mainly road miles with just a little off road use (hey, I have a motorcycle!) and no problems so far. -

Because People have asked I am going to raise this post from the dead. UPDATE: I now have the handlebar mount and have used it on my Mt bike and motocycle with no problems at all. -
To enter waypoints, Press find, scroll down to "where am I now?", press ok, It will ask you to save, press ok, Then you can scroll around and enter the name, cords, Icon, and you can even enter any cache hints if you wish, when you are done just scroll down to save and press ok. If you need any more help just ask!

I have got tired of this and need to chime in, When you find a dollar do the right thing and spend it on a beer, no need for a long thread. Oh yah, Happy caching!
