  1. Steve --- yup that's it, just plain ol' Steve. Mom and Pop had no imagination when I came along and they couldn't think of a decent gnomish name for me. my mission, to have all that find me to think of a better gnome name than Steve and post it in there log.

  6. great idea for a cointest. thanks for the opportunity! 3,20,31,42,44 I have several games I like. My favorite family card game - Phase 10
  7. I wholely agree that receiving a coin that has blemish or mar can be a disappointment. I received a Geowoodstock tiedye coin in a lot purchase that looks great but what was missing or marred was the tracking number. I hold no malice toward the seller as it was a lot purchase and all the other coins were in top notch shape. I contacted the vendor and they requested photos to show the problem. My only problem was that it is difficult to get a clear photo of such small print. I sent them the best photos I could come up with and haven't heard back since. Looks like I have a nice keychain or watch fob
  8. I'm thinking this is a mission trip to make the 6500 cache find mark so let's say 276 caches ambitious numbers but doable in that area given the number available Good Luck and have a safe trip! thanks for the cointest
  9. Goin' Colts total: 73 points ( 38/35 in OT )
  10. Welcome to the little one! how about 7 lb, 13 oz?
  11. The point of a hotel is to assist the traveler, not to be a place that people can always find one. I would agree with that but I am not sure that is how the Hotels are viewed by all.
  12. There are so many schools of thought on the trading of trackables but one thing should be addressed. If you do not swap trackables even or near even, it depleats the cache for others rapidly. How many cachers have visited a "TB/COIN Hotel" and found it vacant? Some owners place rules on their hotels and other caches to trade 1:1 but while this is only a request and very difficult to enforce, the goal is to prevent these empty caches. I have heard of a few hotels that were raided and all the trackables taken only to have these trackables all end up in another new hotel placed by the raiding party a few weeks later. Others feel that the draw of a trackable in their cache makes it stand out and have more appeal for cachers to visit. (and get quite upset when it doesn't have a trackable in place)
  13. thanks BlueDeuce, I figured that it had been noticed before now. Now, when is that next release???? (rhetorical)
  14. I apologize if this has already been covered but I don't see any topic that suggest it..... I have just logged two trackable items that I "grabbed" from another cacher, but the logs on my profile show that I grabbed them from " " (blank) and the Trackable page shows that I "grabbed" from the previous cache it was in. Has this glitch been identified by Groundspeak after the upgrade? and if not, where does it need to be posted?
  15. Let's go crazy and say........ 53 inches

  19. another possibility is that it is a Non-trackable coin. Does it state "trackable on geocaching.com" ?
  20. Funny you should mention the ol' BB gun ! well, it wasn't my gift but the memories are shared by the whole family. After all the celebration was done and the toys had been played with for a week or so, it was time to take down the decorations and the tree and get things back to the normal chaos of a famiily of five. The ornaments and decorations were all packed in the boxes and it was time to remove the tree from the house and my Dad spotted one last glass ornament hanging on the nearly bare tree. SO... he decided to use the BB gun my brother had recieved as a de-ornamenter. He cocked the gun, took aim, and squeezed the trigger. Ping, the ornament shattered and as we were all chuckling about it we noticed the BB hole through the inside pane of the dual pane picture window and the crack that began forming from it. OOPS, whose laughing now?!? Sure was glad it was Dad and not me that shot it out.

  24. How about a "So This is Art????" cointest. submit your pictures of sculptures, statues, or other works of "ART" that really don't look like ART to you. I know that there are plenty of examples of so called art out there that the beauty is only in the eye of the beholder.
