  1. Very many thanks Serraphena, what a brilliant community this is. It would have been great to continue the chatting on-board but unfortunately it wasn't to be. Aberdeen to Portsmouth was quite a drive for them and their journey wasn't over by a long shot, what an adventure and opportunity to add to their cache count.
  2. ...that I met in Portsmouth ferry port on Sunday (9Oct) please accept my apologies. After scaring the life out of you photographing your trackable windscreen it appears my camera didn't work and I won't be claiming a third to find after all. From our ensuing conversation until we were unceremoniously interrupted by having to board it would appear that Aberdeen has a thriving caching community so doubtless somebody there knows of 2 ladies and 2 or 3 children having driven down the previous day on their way to France. If you do know who I am referring to please pass my apologies on to them; it would be nice to log their car.
  3. HH. That is a fantastic URL, thanks for posting it. It's just what I was hoping existed out in interweb land. I am very conscious not to go trampling over land that I've no right to be on, this resource will keep me on the right path. Thanks again. And no Joulc, I don't need extra clues but thanks for offering.
  4. Thanks Marty, I was wondering what to do with the rest of my life :-)
  5. <Slaps forehead hard> Thanks Suss, as soon as I read that I realised I know that having been involved in 'saving a footpath' years ago (although it was pre inter-web days). A quick look at my counci'ls web page and there's the answer. Thanks.
  6. Can anybody recommend an online source of maps that show the majority of footpaths? OS 1:10000 show major footpaths but is woefully inadequate for the minor ones. I've just completed a Worcestershire series that uses some really obscure paths, marked on the ground with waypoints, that don't occur on any map I've been able to find online. Downloadables for a Garmin would be the icing on the cake but I think it's a big ask for this level of data to be readily available.
  7. Same problem as well, I don't think its the strength of the signal however. My full size iPad works fine yet it is very hit or miss if my mini-ipad opens the cache information. Doesn't help that the icon size is so smal.
  8. Thanks Touchstone, very helpful. John

  10. I missed yesterday's PiDay souvenir by learning about it too late in the day. Are forthcoming souvenirs published in a single place prior to the event or is learning about them all part of the challenge? Every day continues to be a school day.
