  1. I found out that the basic TB has the code stamped on both tags. I bought a 6 inch reflective decal, and that came with a copy tag that you have to write down the code on. Still kinda chinsy to me!!
  2. So I just bought a few "new" TB's from Groundspeak. What's with one of them not having the code stamped/engraved on it?? I enjoyed having the "copy" tag to keep for my $5-$6 investment. I have a nice collection of them. I never saw a "made in china" label on them before either. I always thought the original ones were really neat. I liked the more oval version with the code stamped on it. Wish they would Re-issue them one day. I hate it when good things get cheap!!!!
  3. It's Great!! I like the glow-in-the-dark idea also!
  4. Payment sent!! Thet are great looking coins!
  5. Thanks everyone! I also received an email from Garmin stating the same link between WAAS and the "D".
  6. No glowing lights! I did look for them though.
  7. I have a new Garmin GPS 60. On the satellite page, I get a "D" on some bars but not others. What does the "D" mean? I've looked in the book and Garmin's site, but no luck.
  8. I've got a base model GPS 60. Works great for me. I'd like Garmin to put an ENTER button in the middle of the rocker, so it would be quicker to enter data. Now you have to "rock" to what you want, then hit a seperate ENTER button.
  9. I was going to post the same question! My brother and I, with 2 Garmin GPS's (different models), went out last evening (5-21-06), and had the same problems here in SE Michigan. The units both said the same things. They wouldn't update the compass points, had only one or two satellites locked on, and were on the fritz all night. Seemed to work ok today though. Wierd!!!
  10. Thanks!!! Love the idea, but didn't want to copycat anyone without proper authorization.
  11. Very neat idea!! May I borrow your idea, and plant one in Michigan? I'd like to put something like that together. Sorry about the TB.
  12. I've got a whole 34 miles on my Geocache America coin!! I've got work to do!!
  13. Mine was bought, activated, and in a cache in just a few days! Results probably not typical, but I was impressed!! Go spread that sunshine Lil buddy!!
  14. Update: Got my coins today!!! A big, huge thanks to The Blind Acorn for the alternate emails. I received replies from Rusty and Mike the day after I emailed them. I got the coins in hand a few days later. I feel much better about using them for coins again. Thanks again!!
  15. 5 missing MIGO 2006 Geocoins, and 4 Geocache America coins!!!
  16. No, I didn't know that they are linked to the store. I'll try them next. As to the complaint, I think I have a legitimate cause to complain about mediocre support for a paying customer. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but that only goes so far. All I needed was one email to clear up the whole thing.
  17. Well here is an update: It's Sunday, May 14th. I ordered the coins over a month ago now. I have sent 3 emails to geocoinstore. I have not gotten any of the 5 missing coins, nor any email from them about the coins. Their site isn't even selling that coin anymore. I went to the Paypal resolution center, and filled out the claim form. Because I received partial goods, and the transaction wasn't ebay related, paypal cannot get any of my money back from them. My claim was submitted as a complaint, that only internal Paypal staff can see. I am out about $45. I have found another site to buy coins from, so geocoinstore won't see another penny from me! I hope that you have better luck with them than I have.
  18. Yes, that's the address I have been sending the e mail to. No replies. I did send a request for my purchases to be linked to my account, which they did reply to after a week or so.
  19. I have decided not to buy any more untill they get with the program. It's not good practice to leave the customers hanging like this. If it gets too out of hand, I'll get it arbitrated through Paypal. We'll see!
  20. Hi everyone! I purchased 6 Migo 2006 geocoins from Geocoinstore.com a few weeks ago. About a week or so later, one showed up in the nice padded, still sealed envelope. I emailed about the 5 missing coins, but no reply. I waited about a week or so , emailed again, no reply. I had them update my purchase history, which showed it was shipped. I still don't have the 5 coins owed me. They have my money. What's the next step? Has this happened to you?? I'm trying to be courteous, but I am getting a bit frustrated. Thanks!!
  21. Hi there. My name is Joe, and I'm new to geocaching and geocoins. I've looked through the forums, and I still have a few questions about geocoins. What is the deal with them? Do you collect them? Do they move from cache to cache like a travel bug? If you put them in a cache do they travel, or do they disapear into oblivion? I have ordered a few, and am waiting for them to arrive. What's your thoughts?? Thanks! Joe joeinmi
