  1. That's a rather snarky comment Yes maybe so, but I did wait until I had more then one find. It must be that some publishers are different. In my case, the reviewer was quite helpful and assisted me with what was needed to make it work. What, did you waste 10 minutes of your life looking that one up? The OP's opening statement was just that, a statement. More like a person wanting to vent, not a question. Questions end with a question mark and not a period. I agree that if someone posts a legitimate question they should be entitled to legitimate help. Keystone, I'm not sure if you are his reviewer or not, (your definitely not mine) judging from some of the comments above, it sounds like you are not. It was very nice that you were willing to look into the situation for him. Pinehurst, sorry to jack this thread, I hope that you find your listing listed soon.
  2. Yet another reason why there should be a mandatory placement to find ratio.
  3. Thanks for the information guys, I think that I understanding it more now.
  4. I'm a bit confused by the GPX files that are loaded onto my 400t. I have been using GSAK on a windows computer and simply using the export macro to get the files to my CO. Thinking that it may be easier to just send my PQ directly to the CO and not using GSAK, I set out to attempt this. When I connected my CO to my laptop, I find the following listed on my CO: F:\Garmin\GPX In the GPX folder, I have two files (Caches and GC1B6XX) and a folder (Current). In the Current folder, F:\Garmin\GPX\Current I have a file called "Current" I do not recall reading anything about a "Current" folder or file. What is this file? I know that by overwriting the GPX file, it will remove all of the caches that I have found. What if I want to remove the GPX file? Do I simply clean out the entire F:\Garmin|GPX folder including the "Current folder"? Do I need to keep the "Current" folder and simply clean it out? Another question about the PQ, do I need to unzip it or can I send it to the CO zipped? Thanks in advanced for the help.
  5. x's 2. This is the way that I do it as well.
  6. Thanks for the replys guys. I was also able to find a Macro here -->macro that looks like it will work. I used the macro to delete all of the non-updated files. I think that I may restore my database from the backup and try it with the macro that PDOP's suggested.
  7. I have been using GSAK for a couple of years now and just today ran into an interesting situation. Prior to going out searching today, I ran a PQ to update my CO with a few recent hides. While I was out, I was unable to locate a cache. When I got back home and went to log a DNF, I found that the cache was recently archived. When I went back to GSAK, it showed as active. How should I go about updating archived caches in GSAK? I didn't see any of the PQ filters that would locate recently archived caches. I'm sure that there must be more that I have that show as active but are actually archived.
  8. Check your batteries. This isn't the normal shutoff/freeze that people have been seeing. I haven't seen a geocaching freeze with 2.51. If the batteries are good you should probably talk to Garmin. GO$Rs I had mine shut off on me once the other day. Prior to exiting my cachemobile, I had checked the battery level indicator and it showed all bars (full). After about 15 minutes into the hike, it just went dead, no warning or anything and it had a dark line showing in the display from the top to the bottom. I attempted to turn it back on with no luck. Knowing that it is a battery hog, I keep an extra set in my pocket. I changed them, my 400t came back to life and the problem has not reoccurred.
  9. I have to agree. Prior to ordering my GPS, I scoured the net for a retailer that one, had them the unit I was looking for, in stock, and second, had the best price. I also found the prior to ordering my unit, I had several questions that I needed answered. JoAnn from GPSNow.com was very quick to respond to my emails and I would definitely order from them again.
  10. When in the Geocaching mode, simply push up or down with the rock & roller selector.
  11. When using the "map Screen" is there a way to adjust the number of data fields? On my 76, I was able to add additional data fields. I'd like to have the pointer, distance to location and accuracy of GPS all show on my map. Is this possible? And on another note, has anyone figured out how to remove a individual waypoint? Ie: a found geocache.
  12. Thanks for confirming what I thought. I just didn't want to spend the $$$ on the City Nav if it didn't do what I wanted it to do.
  13. I recently purchased a 400t. If I add City Nav NT, will the 400t give me turn by turn directions from point A to point B? If so, will it auto reroute if you miss a turn?
  14. Will the WebUpdater load beta software or is there another way to get the update? EDIT: Sorry for the repetitive question, we must have been typing at the same time.
  15. Question G11 in the FAQ page (thanks for compiling all of that info, it's very helpful!!) states that some people are having success with the 8GB SDHC card. Is this specific to a particular brand of cards or does it look like all of the 8GB SDHC cards are working?
  16. I just ordered mine from GPSNow. As of yesterday, they had just received a shipment of 20 and are selling them for $506.79. Although I added overnight shipping for $13.52, they do offer free shipping. The units that they have in stock have the SN starting with 18xxx, so hopefully they have the full 4GB of internal memory and not the 3GB that others have reported with some of the others.
  17. Thanks for sending me in the correct direction. I had to change the settings within mailsafe to not quarantine .ZIP files.
  18. Yes I do have ZoneAlarm. I'll see what google can find for me, thanks.
  19. I haven't run any PQ's since my computer puked on me a few weeks back. I had been receiving PQ's just fine up to that point. Now when I receive a PQ in my email, the extension on the attached file is .ZM9 instead of .GPX. Any ideas on what is going on?
  20. Thanks for the responses, I will check with the original reviewer. I want to make it temporarily unavailable so that no one places a cache in the area while I purchase the required items needed to put it back together.
  21. I have a cache that went missing a while back. At the time, I didn't have the time to replace it. However, I now would like to reactivate it. How does one go about changing an archived cache to temporarily unavailable?
  22. I currently have an older GPSMap 76 that I am looking to put to the wayside in favor of a new color X series. I have seen the thread with the side by side pictures (thanks for the great shots) of the 60CSx and the 76CSx. I am wondering if there are any differences of the actual units "guts". One of my caching buddies has a 60CS that he loves. Since I am already know the 76 series functions, I am leaning toward the 76CSx. The best price I was able to find today was $329 at GPSonSale.com. Has anyone purchased from them; good/bad experience? Currently I use my GPS mostly for geocaching, but I also use it a little in the car, bicycle and when out hiking. Since I already have a bunch of the Garmin maps, it would be foolish to change to a different brand of GPS. Thanks for helping me decide which unit to purchase.
  23. Do you still have the unit for sale?
  24. At $6.99 + shipping, I found this Ir adaptor to be the easiest and cheapest way to connect my palm to my computer.
