  7. Hello, In my country the number of geocacher is low (probably higher than in your country by low compare to other countries). When I started geocaching an other geocacher from nederland gave the advise to put caches in nice places close to my home. Also it advise me to put several caches. Some peoples from other countries might ne interested to come in the area where I leave to geocache because the number of cache is high. That what I did an effectively some tourist came specialy in my area to geocache and some new French geocacher from my area start geocaching. Also, because the number of people who speak English in France is low, I always put the indications for my caches in french and in English. Next Summer I'm going to Slovakia for my vacations and of course I will geoccahe. May be I will go a day in Romania Romary Les gaulois My caches list : http://www.geocaching.com/profile/Default....f9-a13313e071b5

Any suggestion about some countries near Slovakia are also welcome. Some other geocacher can be interested by such subject. And that can give idea to people to discover a country. If local geocacher prefer a local internet site I think that their problem. I will try to on on Slovakian site (with the help of Toniczech) to play with them. Les Gaulois

We also intend to visit Prague. Can you tell me what are the caches your prefer in Czeck republic? I know by experience that geocaching in a foreign country is a good way to visit and to discover places you would not have go otherwise. It is also a good way to meet people (we had some fun experience in London). Les gaulois

I am looking for map at 1/25000 or 1/50000. I am specialy interested by the Tatras area and the slovaquian paradise area (is it the same place?). Also, if you can help me to choose the right hiking place. BUT if you have other idea I would be very interested, the Tatras seems to be very popular. perhaps there are lots of people. So, if you know interesting place for hiking, please tell me. Any help and/or idea (even place to visit) will be welcome. Of course, I will take the opportunity to geocache, What are the best caches in Slovaquia? Thanks in advance Les gaulois Romary, Astrid, Nathan, Niels
  14. I put a TB in "Facing the Druids balcony" (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=22426). This TB is for a good cause, make it travel fast. This TB (Make a wish)is for the children. Each year many children are diagnosed with many terrible and life threatening diseases such as cancer or lukemia. The Make-A-Wish Foundation gives these children the chance to forget about their problems for a while by arranging to have their wishes fulfilled. The goal of this bug is to log as many miles as possible between June 22, 2003 and November 1, 2003. For each mile that this bug travels, Team Jammer will donate 10 cents (up to a maximum of $1000) to the Michigan Make-A-Wish Foundation. It's time for all the geocachers to do their part and get this bug moving far and fast!! faite voyager vite ce TB!!! 16. quote:Originally posted by IntotheWoods:Bonjour tout le monde! I am an avid American geocacher that will be spending most of a year in Paris beginning in September. I plan on signficantly increasing the number of caches in Paris while I am there and would be more than willing to serve as caretaker for any caches visitors wish to place. Paris is an incredible city and my mind is fairly bursting with the possibilites for geocaching! I also look forward to meeting some French geocachers and perhaps introducing some new people to the sport. See you in September! --IntotheWoods Welcome in france, Paris is a wonderfull town but it is just a part of France. Visit other areas like Alsace, Britanny, Auvergne, the Alpes et caetera There are lots of opportunities for hunting or hide new caches. Cheers les gaulois
  17. I'll be in Paris for a few days at the beginning of August. I've seen primarily virtual caches listed in the area. Have your your travel bugs made it to the City of Lights? If so, I'd enjoy the challenge of finding them and helping their U.S. migration, if that's where they'd like to go. Hello Teach2learn, Thank you very much for that offer. All my TB already left France and are in Spain, Andorra, Netherland, UK... So, they started to travel. I hope your journey in Paris will be good. Just a little advise go visit Montmartre, but not only the "place du tertre" where all the tourists go but start at funiculaire and walk in the little streets around the place. That is my favorite walk in Paris. Be carefull café and restaurants are very expensive and not very good around the place du tertre. Best regards Les gaulois
  18. Today, I check one of my cache for maintenance reason. Somebody found the cache but did not log his visit on geocaching.com. I'm a fraid that some of compatriot are afraid of writing in English!! How can I encourage people to log a visit (even in French)? Les gaulois
  19. Nobody found the French primary cache. It would be a great help for a lots of European geocachers if someone find it and note the hints from the french cache. So, if you want to have friends from all Europe and visit a nice area go and find it. Follow Manuel's link for information or go directly to http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=72379. You can hunt for several caches in the area : http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?lat=45.83415&lon=2.47493 Cheers les gaulois [This message was edited by Les gaulois on July 14, 2003 at 07:37 AM.]
  20. Thanks the lot for your love for my country. But I'm sorry there are very few geocachers in France. Cheers les Gaulois
  21. If you know where are the locations you are going to, you can go and have a look at the map at the following adress : http://www.brillig.com/geocaching/france.shtml. For Paris it is relatively easy. For Ronchamp you have to tell me where is it (Is it the one in the East of France?) les gaulois
  22. You can look for "Roman forum" this is a place where you will go for visiting so it will be fun to look for rthis one : http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=24878 Do not forget to go to to the palatin near the Forum, this is a very pleasant place to visit. Romary

Romary
