  15. All, Anyone willing to donate coins or swag for a CITO even I am hosting in Hawaii on April 14? I am the Chapter Leader for the Military Association of Geocachers (MAGC) in Hawaii and I am hosting a CITO event this year. We are going to be holding the event with an estimated 100 people: 50 MAGC Members and supporters, 25 or so Kayaking Club members, and 25 or so college students new to geocaching. I know everyone gets requests all the time for donations, but having coins and swag from various organizations and groups would be really cool and I'm sure everyone would love to receive such wonderful prizes. Check us out here: http://www.militarycache.org. We are a non-profit organization spreading the word about geocaching and supporting the geocaching adventures of military members, family members, veterans and military supporters. Thanks in advance and let me know if you would like to donate something. V/R, Dan Team_DDNight MAGC HI Chapter Leader geocache@nightengale.name

  17. Aha!!! Now we know how to solve this one.....we've been trying to get some of these done here in Hawaii....we've been successful with some! Thanks Sillygirl & Jrr
  18. Or even.... Twelve THOUSAND miles!!
  19. How about: Twelve brand new friends or Twelve pairs of shoes or Twelve sets of tires Will have to post more later!
  20. Then you'd get people complaining that people really didn't "find" the coin, they just saw them at events. Oh wait, the complaining about that already happens. That's right....the same people who are telling us not to release them (for fear of loss) are the same ones who are complaining about only seeing coins at events!!! Why would anyone release it if it were something new to add to ones personal collection?? I can see personal coins for that reason....when and if I decided to create our own personal coin, then I wouldn't mind releasing them into the wild....that is what they are for. I was hesitant about posting here and now I know why.....whine, whine, whine. Not you SlumberSix, but the people who "absolutely hate" and "are disgusted" with seeing replicas in caches. You know what I say....if you don't like them, leave them be. Don't move them. Hate them all you want, but if you are willing to throw away $10 then I can give you the coordinates to a personal cache that I have created for peope whining about this stuff....Team_DDNight's Wallet Cache!! I cache for the enjoyment and being surprised at what I might find, but I can see others are out here for the "I want to see (steal) a coin!!!" mindset. From my experience at geocaching events, the people are great and I thought the forums on Groundspeak were going to be of the same caliber, but I it's just the same as any other forum on the web....shame! So long and happy caching. You won't be hearing from me again. I'll just stick to the face-to-face meetings at caches here in Hawaii......you won't hear any whining out of them!
  21. Aren't you whining and complaining about how people who want to see real coins (i.e. others) play the game? Negative....I'm just telling you to stop whining and complaining. I don't see anything in my post about complaining at all....I'm saying "Do what you want", but don't ruin, trash, or CITO others 'fake', 'replica', or 'ghost' coins just because you want to see real coins in caches. Go ahead and leave 'em, I don't care. If you want to see my coins, come to Hawaii an attend an event. Otherwise, be happy with my replicas, because I'm not paying money to have people steal my coins for their personal collections. I will, however, create a personal coin (in the near future) and put those in the wild and trade, but for regular coins (Signal, public, etc), I buy them for commemorative / significant reasons and don't want them stolen. Just my personal preference..... YES, this topic is a dead horse. Team_DDNight
  22. I think this whole topic is lame.... I haven't been caching for that long and have just recently purchased a few geocoins. On my "trackables" page I DO LIST THEM AS "(Replica)" for the simple fact that there are people out there who ruin everything that's fun and enjoyable. I, for one, do not work for my money only to have it taken from me. If you guys want to put $10 bills in caches, let me know where you put them and I WILL log them....then again, I might not! I enjoy seeing and holding real coins, but can understand the frustration of the owners when they have to put their nice coins in the graveyard and never have the chance of showing what $10 got them. That's plain bull.... What can we do? Well, to each his own. I am going to put out replicas. If you do not want to find replicas, that's fine....don't go ripping them up, trashing them, or CITOing them. Heck, I might even put real ones out there and list them as "(Replica)" just to make sure the theives don't go searching for them and then take them without logging them....who knows. For all of you who hate seeing replicas, or are totally disppointed in seeing 'fakes', or those whose sole mission is to find caches with coins in them, go take a flying leap. Isn't the whole geocaching experience going places, meeting people, and getting outside to do something you enjoy? Why ruin the whole thing with whining and complaining about how others 'play the game'? For those who cache to see places you otherwise wouldn't have gone, to meet people at events and finally put names to faces, and just for the fact that you can get out with the family and enjoy the great outdoors, then keep on keepin' on!! I'm with ya. If I find a replica of a coin in a cache, I will log it, check the goal, and move it on.....just the same thing I'd do with a real coin. Simple. Play how you want, don't judge others, and treat everyone with respect. Only then will we 'all get along'.....
