  1. My regular pocket queries work now, my "My Finds" query will not. I show your My Finds PQ as having generated about a half-hour ago and available for download from your PQ page. Just got it, thank you.

  3. Thank you all for answering...I'm now happily finding benchmarks in many counties and a couple of states!
  4. Hi thanks for the answer... I tried that, but it only gave me txt files...good for reading data sheets but I couldn't seem to convert them to dat files to use in GSAK.
  5. I'm sorry if this was discussed somewhere else, I can't seem to locate any thread on this topic. I'm attempting to download archived datasheets for California benchmarks. All I get is a message telling me they're unavailable. Is there another place to retrieve them? I used to download them and use bmgpx to put them into gpx files, but now can't seem to download them at all... Thanks...sorry if this is redundant.
  6. My PQ's say they haven't run since 8/22 in the morning. Its not an ISP for me, the PQ's just haven't run.
  7. Been caching since 2002 but just now getting to the forums. Knight = Law Enforcement Night = worked 16 years on graveyards plus the play on words for NightKnight (Night Night) That's all... (Hubby just started counting his finds recently...since he's retired from law enforcement he's a day person now. Sooo, he's DayKnight - day/night)
  8. The preserves caches have been removed from are Cosumnes River Preserve on Franklin Blvd south of Twin Cities, and Beach Lake Nature Preserve and Stone Lakes Nature Preserve off of I-5 near Freeport. As I understand it, if it's a Nature Preserve it's offlimits to caching. As long as the other geocaching rules are adhered to, I think other areas are ok. (ie no digging, etc) You are both invited to the River City Geocaching and Dining Society's meetings. They are on the second Saturday of the month. Locations are posted at www.rcgds.net, as well as a link to subscribe to the group email. Life's a journey, not a destination.
  9. Actually, you've made me think about putting a line in all of my hidden caches saying whether they are wheelchair accessible and how accessible they are. I could scramble part of it if this gives away the hide, such as in a tree. Thanks for the idea! Life's a journey, not a destination.
  10. We'll be staying in Colorado Springs, but we plan to make cache-runs to a lot of different places. I'll look up your cache and try to hit it while we're there. Thanks! Life's a journey, not a destination.
  11. Also, anyone in CO that wants a TB moved to the coast let me know. I'll be introducing my brother to caching and I'll be glad to pick one up out of an easy cache and give it a lift to CA. Life's a journey, not a destination.
  12. I'm driving to Colorado with my hubby late July, early August. Anyone have a TB they want to go with me? I'm hoping to introduce my brother to caching. Let me know. Life's a journey, not a destination.
  13. I'll give you an email or post here. We should be in Co Spgs by the 27th and will be there for 5 days. Life's a journey, not a destination.
  14. Well, except for Button Cache. That one gave me fits and I actually had to put on sunglasses and go out in the daytime to find that one!!! Life's a journey, not a destination.
  15. Maybe we could hide some that would keep him obsessed for a while and leave the others alone. I'm thinking that after a while he might get bored of us and move on to other pursuits. Life's a journey, not a destination.
  16. My husband and I will be traveling to Co. Sprgs in July to visit my brother and introduce him to the addiction...I mean hobby. I don't have a Rino, just an Etrex Vista (just gave him a li'l yellow Etrex). Most of the caches I've seen in the area are virtuals. I hope there are some more traditional types, too. Life's a journey, not a destination.
  17. I also missed the posts regarding his inappropriate comments. If he is doing this on the job as part of his work, then those comments are not acceptable. Someone should definitely take some notes. Life's a journey, not a destination.
  18. Ya know, we were always taught that there's the letter of the law, and the spirit of the law. Letter of the law is by the book no exceptions. Spirit of the law is to use the book as a guideline and enforce to the meaning of what the law was trying to accomplish. Mr Ranger sounds like a by the book kind of guy. I wonder what he thinks of caching at night along the American River Parkway after the parks are closed. I'll probably be there this week and/or next week. I don't think he works nights, but we'll see. Life's a journey, not a destination.
  19. Maybe he isn't caching for fun.... Life's a journey, not a destination.
  20. Most of the time I cache at night while I'm at work if I have a lull (not often during the summer). That means any time between 6 PM and 6 AM. The bike trail/river caches are the scariest at night because of the animal life. When I cache at night when I'm NOT at work I stay away from the river. I doubt if you'll have too much trouble from law enforcement as long as you stay off private property. A lot of local law enforcement knows about my little hobby, and if they question you will probably roll their eyes and say 'oh, one of those'. LOL! Putts caches are good ones for night! 21. quote:Originally posted by Mannings:Me, again! I have started to think the airport cache isnt going to work. It seems there might be police watching the area, and I dont want to be arrested as a terrorist. Also, I am traveling up next Friday, which is the Friday before a holiday. I expect it will be crowded. Looking around the area, I have found 2 possible caches. Any comments? Indo-cache: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=9999 or (I think I like this one best) http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?pf=&ID=16211&decrypt=y&log= thanks, Laura If you try the first one, make sure you go during business hours. It's definitely closed nights and I'm not so sure about Saturday. The second one would be great if your bug is on the smaller side. You could also try one of mine, although it's also a little small... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=27390 This one's a little bigger... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=8848 Life's a journey, not a destination.

Just wanted to say thanks! Haven't been on the forums for a little while. Thanks for the compliment. Life's a journey, not a destination.

Yeah, I had noticed a lot of logs by Ranger10 when we were caching there last weekend. Most of the (physical) log entries mentioned wanting to catch NightKnight in the park after hours. --Marky "All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer with a backlit GPSr" LOL! I'd love to meet up with him, but I don't think he hangs around the trails at night. Too many wild critters around...and me. I wonder why he doesn't log his finds on the geocaching web site? His profile shows no finds. Life's a journey, not a destination.
  24. quote:Originally posted by Ron Streeter:The entertainment for http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=60763&Nocache=0.7055475 is still ready to go! There was no one there but me on Sunday the 11th between 7 and 8 pm. The other entertainment on that road has been removed. Ron __I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.__ Don't know if you've been following the threads for the RCGDS...but the park Ranger who has taken it upon himself to be the cache police has become a member. We'll see if he can find Picnic Time. Remember, the light at the end of the tunnel could be you.
