  1. Is this part of a cache description? Theres a picture on a cache page and when you click on it it takes you to that web page. LOL 1-7
  2. Thank you for the help. We do use Gmail and after working with it a few minutes and with your help, we got the filter set up and it works like a charm! Thanks again.
  3. We have recently set out a series of 140 caches called the Hillbilly Highway (GC4BRZ5) running through a beautiful section of the Arkansas Ozark Mountains. We have asked finders to post a log detailing their experience on #1 and on #140. We do not expect a detailed log on every cache in between. In other words, we have "given permission" to post a simple TFTC on the other 138 caches in between. This is not required and if anyone wishes to take the time to log each and every cache individually, we will for sure read them. We would just like the option of reading these logs on the cache page. Is there a way to set a filter on the logs we receive that will show only DNF's (on all caches) and the found it logs for only #'s 1 and 140? We have had a good number of people set out to do the series and our inbox is full and our phones are overheating. I have found that Clay & Gus have the ET Highway logs set up with a filter as mentioned but have not found anywhere how to do this. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Kyle&Ann
  4. Greetings from Arkansas! Ann and I will be caching the ET Highway on these days this upcoming June. We would love to have another duo to join us on this adventure. We have already booked our flight, hotel and rental car and are really excited about our trip. We have also secured a room for a couple of nights at the Little AleInn in Rachael, Nevada. If you are interested, shoot us an email at GC.com Kyle&Ann

  6. My wife will be in NYC for two days this next week attending an workshop for her job in Arkansas! Of course one of the first things she said when she found out she was going was " omg...I HAVE to get some NYC smilies"! Unfortunately she does not know where she will get to visit in the "Big Apple" and I know that makes it difficult to answer my request. Any suggestions for some exceptional caches she might want to find? She is telling me I am wasting my time and yours b asking...but I thought we might give it a shot anyways. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. She will probably just hit the find nearest button...but if there were any strong suggestions, she may plan her free time to find these caches. Possibly ones near the attractions most everyone wants to see? Times Square, Empire State Building, WTC Memorial...etc. Thanks again!
  7. I just got a new iPad for Christmas! I am very excited about it and the first thing I did was log into gc.com to check out the geocaching map. No matter what I have tried, I have a a horrible time getting a cache page to pull up on the map after clicking on it. Anyone else have the same issue? Is there a solution that I am not aware of? I have done some research on the net....but no luck. Any suggestions? Mods - I understand if you move this post to another forum, but if possible, can it stay here for a short time? Thanks!
  8. We just noticed the thread further down the page...sorry for posting an already discussed topic.
  9. Have been working on a cache page...went to some completed & published pages of mine and noticed all of my images (all of my pages) are gone. Have been researching the forums. Is everyone having the same issue? Sorry if already posted here...just wanted to see if we are the only one's experiencing this.

  11. Afternoon all! Do any of you know where I can find a current gpx for the Oklahoma land run (East & West)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Kyle&Ann
  12. I unfortunately do not have stats on elevation. I will do some research and if I find some information, I will post it. I can tell you this...the elevation gain on the trail is not too severe, however the trail is rough and challenging. I have been backpacking in Arkansas & Colorado for many years. I did my first backpacking trip on this very trail when I was 15 years old and have since thru-hiked the Ozark Highlands Trail and the Colorado Trail. Some may balk at the following statement, but I find backpacking in Arkansas harder in many aspects. Please don't let that discourage you from backpacking this trail. It is VERY do-able and well worth the time and effort. Just make sure you have good footwear and do some research on the trail. I have included information and links on the cache listings to cover all of the bases. As always, we are available to answer any questions that you may have. We may not have all the answers, but I am sure we can point you in the right direction.
  13. Thanks to all who have responded...I appreciate your info and suggestions. Keep them coming folks!
  14. Hello fellow geocachers! My wife and I have completed designing, developing and placing a backpacking geocache trail here in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. We have walked 30+ miles, obtained required permits, learned a little about HTML and have brushed up on some photoshop skills to pull this project together. We have also designed and purchased rewards to distribute to those who find the achievement cache connected to the series. We cannot wait to start passing them out! My question to you is this...What is the best way to attract out of state geocachers? I have designed a very simple website hoping that inquisitive cachers will find this series. I have found out through this process that google does not utilize meta tags (keywords) like they used to. Anyone have any suggestions? We really want to share the beauty of the Ozark Mountains with those who may have never been to the "Natural State". 15. Thank you SwineFlew! I thought this was right...wanted to make sure. I appreciate your quick response.
  16. I have a quick question about the geocaching.com map. I am a school teacher and have a handful of students who are starting to geocache. Many of these students cannot afford a premium membership and they want to look for my caches. I have chosen to make my hides all premium member only. When they have logged on to gc.com and go to the map...my hides do not show up on their map. Is that because my hides are for premium members only and they will not show up on their map until they upgrade? Thanks in advance for your help.
  17. ChiliHead... Thanks for the GREAT advice about the bonus cache! I have my bases covered...the area is WIDE open! Not a cache anywhere near it, nor are there any multis or puzzles either. Great advice though...I appreciate it greatly. However, after thinking about what you said...I will triple check and shoot my reviewer the coords for the final...just to make 10000% sure!
  18. Shaved Ewok... The trail is meant to be done over two days and one night. It has two primitive camping areas located on the trail. You could even make it a 2-nighter very easily! We wished you lived closer as well!
  19. Thanks so much for all of the advice you have given me! You guys have made me think about things I would not have thought about before asking for help! I will ponder on all of these suggestions and incorporate them into the final product. How would you guys design the actual physical caches? I NEED them to be maintenance free. I cannot afford 31 ammo cans...so I am open to all suggestions! Thanks again for all your replies & advice!
  20. I have a question for my fellow geocachers and I hope y'all can help me. I am designing and working State Park & National Forest park rangers on a backpacking geocache series. I want to make this series a challenge. 14 out of the 30 caches placed on the trail will have a code inscribed on the lid of the cache. Such as A=3, B=5,etc until the cacher can fill out the below coordinate formula. AB CD.EFG HI JK. LMN I have scouted out and measured a spot for a bonus cache, which will correspond to the completed coordinates in the formula above. How do I get the 30 caches along the trail published with the 31st cache (being the bonus) not having it's coordinates published? I am wanting those who attempt and complete the challenge to get 31 smileys as a result...and a really nice patch I am designing as a reward for finding all 30 caches - figuring out the coordinates and finding the bonus cache. I thought I had thought about everything...but as I was on the last mile of the trail taking the coordinates of the last few hiding spots, I wondered how to do this? Can you help me figure this out? Do I submit 30 traditional caches (the one's on the trail) and the 1 Puzzle cache (for the bonus) with instructions linking this puzzle cache to the 30 traditional caches with instructions on what to do with the codes found on the caches on the trail? Again...I am hoping to have 30 traditional caches published (so they show up on the map) and the final cache coordinate hidden. I also want those who complete the challenge to receive 31 smileys! Thanks in advance for your replies!
  21. Wow! ANOTHER great idea! You guys are awesome and I really appreciate the great ideas! Keep them coming! Kyle&Ann
  22. Wow! Another great idea! Thanks for replying. I knew I could count on my fellow cachers to conjur up some good & interesting ideas! Keep the coming folks!
  23. This idea about creating items with polymer clay has intrigued me! I will look into this...THANKS!
  24. Thanks to all the quick responses and good ideas so far! I appreciate you guys!
  25. Greetings to all fellow geocachers! I have searched the forums and have not found a thread regarding this topic. I may have missed one, if I did...sorry if already posted. I am designing a backpacking trail challenge here in Arkansas and I am providing a bonus cache at the end of the challenge. I am in need of ideas for a reward that other geocachers will appreciate. My wife and I are public school teachers, so you will understand when I say we do not have unlimited funds to spend on these rewards. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Kyle&Ann
