  1. I have. I'd you return them to the DOD they are destroyed.
  2. While geocaching in May 2015 my granddaughter and I found a set of military dog tags on the ground near GC5J5JZ in SC. I have been researching the name and military ID numbers on the tags but have been unable to locate the owner or his family. The tags are from the early 1950's so I am sure we are searching for family members. I have lots of information on the man and his family but even with lots of help I am still stuck. Please help me find the owner and return the tags to the family. If you would like to help contact me on Facebook. Joanna Pickelsimer and I will send you a photo of the tags and all the info I have so far.
  3. Not sure why people get all uppity about words. Because my 6 year old granddaughter has a account here and I do not want her exposed to this type of language. Keep it CLEAN Words are just words, we associate the meaning to them. Every time someone says "flippin", "gosh darn it", "cheese-n-rice", or anything else, you might as well have said the word you replaced because the exact same intent is behind them. How do you handle situations where another person's language choice is beyond your control, such as the mall or a football game? Do you expect everyone else to mind their P and Q's? Furthermore: So to be a responsible member of the GC community, we should limit our language and content to PG13 levels. And since most 13 year olds understand the meaning of curse words and their applications (just listen in on one of their conversations when they think there isn't an adult around), I don't understand why there is an outrage at the usage of such language. The account was set up and run by her mother, but in her name and yes she does sit with her and lets her read the cache descriptions, Clues and logs before they go out to find a cache. She also opens all caches before granddaughter is allowed to look through them for swag. She is home schooled and reading on a 6th grade level she is not sheltered, but we determine when and what is age appropriate for her.

  6. Are all back door methods for logging premium caches now closed to non premium members? I cache with my daughter who is premium but can not get in to log using the site i had just used two weeks ago.
  7. I have a garmin e-trex legend H My question is is there a way to delete all Geocaches? waypoints? recent finds? without having to do one at a time?
  8. South Carolina also has http://www.spartanburgparks.org/LEAF/documents/SpartanburgCountyHeritageGeotrailWorksheet.pdf
  9. Thanks to https://www.facebook.com/heathersrideprogram my granddaughter was able to join her family on a 6 mile bike/cash ride this weekend on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. She is usually able to not able to participate in these family outings. We are now looking to find/acquire her a bike like this of her own. There may be programs like this in other areas of the country.
  10. Thanks I never thought of using Google. Didn't have a clue when I first read this thread, but Google came to the rescue: GC33BEY Swamp Rabbit Trail Challenge - 50 http://coord.info/GC33BEY I'm guessing you're looking for something other than: http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/default.aspx?guid=a8dcd778-b9af-433d-8fb0-40a64d95284e&WptTypeID=8 B.
  11. Looking for updated “Swamp Rabbit Trail” Bookmark List
  12. I do not use a wheelchair but my granddaughter does. She is 14 years old (mentally 3-5 years) and has CP among other problems. She loves to go on outings with her family. Problem is with caches that are park and grabs or just one or two in a park - it takes more time to get her out of the car and into her chair than it does to find the cache. So unless there are several located along wheelchair friendly paths within a park or city she just has to sit in the car with one of her three sisters volunteering to sit with her. We will be doing the Swamp rabbit trail in the upstate of SC later this summer. There is a shop at one end of the trail that rents bikes, they have a bike that she can ride with a parent/sibiling and they rent it for FREE. This way she can geocache with us. We are also looking into purchasing a bike like this for her to have. Here is the rental program for this bike https://www.facebook.com/heathersrideprogram
  13. How do I find out about CITO events in my area?
  14. Its Ok, we know it was a joke. We never let Lady Grace on line before we have checked things out first.(just in case) and we are always with her when she is on. So no harm done.
  15. my granddaughter Braelyn Grace age 6 worked on 6 new cashes to get published for spring break. and she received this... "Post Reviewer Note03/31/2013 As geocaching has reached a level of saturation, TPTB have decided that the number of caches should now remain constant. New cache submissions for placements will now be placed in a queue until an existing cache gets archived. If the next cache in the queue has any guideline issues or questions, that question will be deferred to the cache owner and the next cache will be reviewed. Once the issue is settled, it will return to the queue in the back of the line. Requests for unarchival will also be placed at the end of the queue."
  16. muggled/stolen twice before i could get it published......
  17. Whaaaaa?! What happened to the proximity rule??? You mean they're allowing two magnetic nanos per stoplight now??? You must know Liberty SC yes we only have 3 stoplights. I have a few more caches are planed I just gotta get hubby back on his feet (had major surgery last week) so i can work on caching....
  18. Well lets just say our town has more caches than stoplights. Six caches total and two of them belong to my granddaughter. So we could have done them all in less than 30 minutes if we tried. Right now we travel between 20 and 60 miles round trip for more caches.
  19. Yes they do seem a little expensive, but i have found them for as little as $13. Maybe with a little more searching?????
  20. has anyone used them? http://www.zorotools.com/g/Camouflage%20Key%20Safe/00029220/
