  4. I've been reading all the other topics and replies and it seems that the magellan explorist has better reception in tree cover. so i'm leaning in that direction right now. i'm still going to wait a few more days before i make my decision. one thing, i'm not too worried about magellan having bad customer service because i will be buying from wal-mart and just about everyone knows if u r not satisfied with your product or it dosnt work u can return it and get your money back no problem. 5. Hello. I am a newbie to the gps world and need advice on what kind of gps to get. I am very computer litterate so a machine with difficulty is not a problem with me. I do ALOT of hunting and need something that works very well in heavy tree cover and hilly areas. my price range is up to $300. I have been looking at the Garmin and Magellans (who isnt lol). But in particular the Garmin Legend C and Magellan explorist 400. Any advice is welcome. I just really need something that picks up a signal well in heavy tree cover and hilly terrain. Also i'm thinking about getting into geocaching also. Thanks to all who reply. Rylan
