Just open any gpx with a text editor and you'll see it's just a text file with XML markup. You'll also see that pictures in the listing just are HTML links. There are no pictures included in gpx files! I don't know how c:geo can display the pictures. Maybe they were cached from an earlier session? c:geo acts like a browser: the images are shown from the browser cache. Checked if WiFi was switched off Cleaned all the caches of all the apps I could find, especially the browsers (Chrome and Firefox) I cleaned the downloaded geocaches list in Cgeo Checked again if the WiFi was still switched off Imported the gpx-file from the Garmin/GPX directory into Cgeo (the exact same file as the native geocaching app on the Monterra is using). Opened in Cgeo a geocache description I was absolutely sure to have never opened before on the Monterra or even any of my computers, tablets or whatever appliance. And........ it showed the pictures from the description page of the geocache. It is a miracle, this is way beyond my comprehension You had one previous session, the one in which the app that violates the TOU brought in the data. It resolved the link at that time. It is really simple to verify. Create a PQ that includes pictures in the body of the cache and open it on your computer with a word processor. You will see there are no embedded images. OK, I get it. The answers I got explain my initial question as well (why the native Garmin geocaching app does not show the pictures). The only solution of that problem is in the hands of Garmin. Thanks for answering but I think you are wrong about pictures not being included in the gpx file. I switched off the WiFi of the Monterra. I imported the pocket query I made which is in the GPX directory of the Monterra into Cgeo on the same Monterra. The pictures that are shown on the description page of the cache when using my laptop are shown in Cgeo (so without active internet connection) and not in the Geocaching app of the Monterra. In this app the pictures are shown as tiny blue squares. I am not talking about the pictures people attach to their logs but the pictures the CO incorporates in the description page of the cache and are part of and supporting the description of the cache. When using GSAK or the JaVaWa tool I need to use my computer. One of the fun things of the Monterra is that using the Pocket Query Creator and 7-ZIP apps you can make a pocket query directly on the Monterra without using your computer.

After downloading several gpx-files from Geocaching.com to my new Monterra I started the Geocaching profile and the native Geocaching app on the device and saw everything worked fine except.... it does not show the pictures from the cache description page. I downloaded Cgeo and used the same gpx file from the Monterra and it worked perfectly fine. Is there a solution for this problem (using the app supplied with the Monterra?)

Hi, there is a pretty simple way to download GPX-files from Geocaching.com to the Monterra. The apps you need: Pocket Query Creator (PQC) and 7-Zip for Android. On your Monterra: Make your pocketquery in PQC and have it downloaded to your Download directory on the Monterra Start 7-Zip and have the files unzipped directly to your Internal Storage/Garmin/GPX-directory. Works fine on my Monterra.
