  1. There has been a lot of talk about this issue around Kansas City. I mostly started it too. Here's where I stand on it: I DO support the site with 30 dollars per year. However, geocaching is not the only site I support with my hard-earned money. All total I probably spend over 100 dollars on just a couple of websites, geocaching.com being the cheapest and probably the best value. I recently purchased my wife a gpsr. Since then, she created her own account and started logging the finds we both did together. That's cool and all, but she doesn't drive and will not go out caching by herself. Her and my sister recently took a trip where they both did one and she got to log it on her account. The problem is...recently KC has been flooded with MO caches. Now I'm not against them by no means. But if we go out caching one day, we hit an area and do all the caches around, when we get home, she doesn't get to log them unless I buy another membership for the very few MO caches that are around. We've discussed it around KC, and figured the best bet would be a family membership. Maybe 45 for your most bennies (pq's and such) and another log-in that gets to log MO caches but not PQ's. I'd be all for that. Others have stated both ways of this topic...no MO caches...all new ones MO caches... I just wanna cache!
  2. I wanna pony up to a bar and have someone buy me beers all night (until I pass out anyways)
  3. They seem to be down quite often now though
  4. I would like one of these for all the night caches (and sometimes day) that I hit.
  5. Glenn has set up a cool forum for Missouri Geocachers. Of course, everyone can join in (yeah, even if you're in Kansas or Illinois or somewhere like that) Thought I would advertise it here, in case someone has missed it. Hope that's ok?!? Missouri Geocaching Forum Hope to see you there!
  6. That is a bummer. We were rooting for him here and following his progress.
  7. Feel free to post to all open topics. New topics are no longer allowed since every issue has already been discussed in it's entirety. All questions from new people and old have already been answered multiple times. Please use the search function and you will find it easily...if you have any questions about the search function, it has already been answered. Thank you.
  8. Should have read the whole thread before posting (homeless already mentioned). Let me know if you put it back ok?
  9. If it's Loose Park, maybe a homeless person kept it there as a stash so if he was mugged he didn't have his whole life savings on him. Nahhhhhh, I'd keep it.

    Just A Question

Why does the YJTB icon have a star beside it on your stats page as if it's a find? Edit: Ok, it's not a star, it's an asterisk, but why's it there?
  11. I see how to change it....how do you get rid of it altogether?
  12. Great work Jeremy! I knew the forum frequenters would get every suggestion I could think of in (which wasn't many to begin with). I just waited it out, and now it's great! Now you're just one click away from anything I'd want to look at. WheresGeorge went through a MAJOR renovation for the whole website a while back. People were complaining big time. But once you got used to the "new" site, it's just as easy as before. Same thing with this change, I knew I'd get used to it and even like it eventually. Now I'm at ease with it and like it better than before. Great Job!
  13. The pocket query has sent the ones disabled. Just doesn't show up on the PDA as disabled.
  14. How do I get the caches that are disabled to show up on the PDA? I downloaded CMConvert 1.8.2. and ran the query tonight with that. Where does it show up? Sorry if this has been addressed before, was too lazy to search. A lazy geocacher? hmmm
  15. I've done a few of them. My wife and I really enjoyed them too. The best ones were usually multi-virtuals, with several stops across the whole cemetary. Because of these, we saw Jesse James, Frank James, Charlie "Bird" Parker, and several other notable figures from the Kansas City area's graves. I don't think they minded. Granted, some could be untasteful, but our experience has always been good.
  16. I thought about that, but I don't think I'll ever run anything more than my laptop and maybe my rechargeable batteries on it, so shouldn't be a problem. Thanks though, has me thinking again too.
  17. Run your "filter finds" search a few times a day. Do it now and see how many caches are within your 100 mile radius. Remember that number and the next time you run it, if it's increased by 1 there's a new cache, of course, it might be too far away, but you can go through the list and find it. This isn't foolproof. If someone archives one and a new one pops up, the number will be the same. If you check the list a few times a day (I check it a lot) the chances of that is probably pretty slim. Good luck on that First FTF! Around here it's an honor actually, there's several first finders in the area.
  18. I bought a 400W on ebay for less than $40.
  19. Found the cache, rushed off in the dark before signing log. Whoa, what a cache! When I uncovered it I thought "wow! that wasn't supposed to happen, but dadgum I'm glad it did....Look at THAT cache!" Justin Timberlake
  20. What about me? Yellow Jeep counts? Oh well. We both did it.
  21. Here's another good thread. G vs. M
