While I understand your point, if you follow it to it's end it would mean never using NM.

I would not have done what I did if I didn't feel confident the cache was gone, but I've noticed a difference between one or two people not being able to find a tough cache and a bunch of people saying that they couldn't find an easy one, that it looked muggled, etc, and several asking for maintenance just without using the tag. With that last little bit I'm not looking to take any liberties or assumptions, just fixing a mistake.

Even being new to this, I already get annoyed when either a cache has a ton of DNFs with nobody actually asking for maintenance, and just as annoyed when a cache is marked as NM because the owner never bothers to do a maintenance performed log. One time I reported a cache as NM without ever visiting it because about 7 people had DNFs on a 1 star cache. The owner was able to quickly replace the container and I went and got it in under a week.

Hi folks, forget who mentioned it to me, but a friend said something about this a few weeks back and it sounded like a cool idea so I've gotten hooked on it. Always loved getting outside and this is a great reason to either get out, or something fun to do if you already are out. I'm 25, from Allentown, PA, and have found it quite humorous that the company I work for owns several cemeteries which I've been to a billion times and still never seen the caches hidden in them. On my last trek out I found my first wooden nickel and am still hoping to find a trackable soon as the concept of seeing the things go around the country is really cool. My two biggest loves are music (progressive rock & metal mostly) and hockey. I play outdoor roller hockey and have been a Flyers fan all my life. I also pretty much love playing most other sports, but aside from hockey mainly play volleyball and the occasional game of Tennis. Only other sport I really watch is football, and I'm a Niners fan.

Noob here, was gonna hit Wal-Mart for a few things and figured I'd check to see what I might be able to get to add to my bag, and this thread was very helpful. Already had figured on and added a bunch of things, but am definitely going to pick up a few more thanks to you guys.
