  1. Cache Name: High probability of being muggled + Indian reservation = Custer's Last Cache
  2. ??? I, as an American, am ashamed. I had no idea our neighbors to the North were so oppressed (hosed). Someone should notify Amnesty International... Amend the Canadian constitution to give all citizens the right to steal to make up for the price of gas and the ridiculous difference in the cost of fully loaded Toyota Corollas!!! Hunt down the hosers!!!
  3. You are probably the first and most definately now the last person who will ever win that battle. I guess you really taught them a lesson. 10 business days is 2 weeks... You literally stole a copy of the software!!! I guess two wrongs make a right in your case Someone should forward this post to Magellan, maybe they could collect their $102...with shipping. Hey, if you find my wallet on the street someday just mail it back to me without the cash. It sounds like you're that kind of person.
  4. I used mine on a trip through India last year from Delhi to Darjeeling and Gangtok. It worked stellar. A guide in Gangtok is overseeing a cache there for me. I LOVED Darjeeling and the Sikkim province - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! It would be awesome to see the sport develop more in India!!! Aloha
  5. Quick question based on this topic: Is it considered ok to pile rocks up to cover a tupperware size cache? Thanks Aloha
  6. Does the park charge different rates based on race? Here in Thailand you can place or search for caches in national parks, but if you're white, black, hispanic, or even Japanese or Korean you'll be paying a lot more than you think. Thai nationals = 20 Baht (57 cents) Foreigners = 400 Baht ($11.42) Foreigners married to Thai nationals = 400 Baht Foreigners married to Thai nationals with children = 400 baht Sounds to me like a standard $5 fee to enter a park is quite nice and reasonable. Especially when that money actually goes to park improvement, etc. instead of into someones pocket like here in the Land of Smiles. Based on what they are charging here in Thailand the entrance fees in America should be much higher to account for higher costs, salaries, etc. accrued by the forestry departments. Living and working in another country for over 5 years has given me a true appreciation of the freedoms most western countries provide and the parks we can enjoy. Aloha
  7. Invisible shield is awesome!!! I have had one on my Vista Cx and it went up against some old, sharp bamboo in Cambodia. Two small scratches on the film but didn't rip the protector or get through. I was actually shocked it scratched the film. It has been bombproof in every other situation. I'm going to test out their lifetime replacement guarantee and replace the scratched film. I tried a different protector before I got this one and it was horrible. It kept peeling off. Aloha
  8. I had the same problem on my Vista Cx. I emailed garmin customer service and was asked to supply my purchase information. Since I was within the 1st year they said they would mail me out a new one. That was about two weeks ago and I am still waiting. Probably the Thai postal system... I will post back the instructions for attaching the new one when I recieve it. Aloha
  9. Garmin Vista Cx - Hands down!!! This unit has great reception, good mapping, everything you could possibly need. The best part is its size. I have used this unit traveling all over the world and it fits in my front pocket. Lots of maps available and great customer service. Aloha
  10. I bought a Vista CSx in Thailand with Thai maps pre-loaded onto a 128 mSD card. I have recently ordered the Garmin WorldMap cd-rom and a new mSD card(512Gb) I would like to have all the maps on the same card (Thailand streets and maps from original mSD card + WorldMap). Is this possible? Note: the unit did not come with the cd-roms for the Thai maps, only the pre-loaded mSD card. Also, I would like to make a back-up of the original Thai maps as they were very expensive. Can a copy be made of the original mSD card and kept in case of emergency? Thanks for the help!!! Aloha
