  1. Go ahead and give me the "Do a search" answers because I'm a newbie and this has probably been asked. I have a new Garmin 60CSx and I also have a Garmin/Kenwood in dash GPS unit in my truck. Is it possible to somehow retrieve the MapSource (City Navigator V.7 I believe) from the unit in my truck and transfer/share to my handheld? This shouldn't even really be a question as I should have received the disc with my purchase of the first unit right? Not sure why I didn't but I will check with my dealer. In the meantime, is my quest to share the software and save $100 bucks in vain? Are they even compatible? If it helps the Garmin unit in the truck is a Kenwood Model KNA-G510.
  2. This is not good news to me as I just purchased a 60CSx and have tried unsuccessfully to do several things via their website. I barely got the dang thing registered, at least I think I did. I am also considering plunking down nearly $100 bucks for MapSource but now I don't know. How reliable is Garmin customer service, updates, etc.?
  3. I remember that not too terribly long ago I waited several minutes for a single picture to load. And not too long after that I was content with it taking almost five minutes to get through a whole news story. Just the other day in fact, I actually had to wait .34 seconds for a Google search that usually only takes .15! Hmmmm, me thinks our priorities they are a changin' these days.
  4. This was pretty much the gist of my question and I figured it out after playing around with GSAK for a while. I can download and use waypoints without any problems but thats about it. GSAK is a bit two sofistikaytid fer me! I may try EasyGPS and see if it is a little more user friendly unless I can find a ReadMe file somewhere for GSAK. I read somewhere that it is also possible to download clues. Can this be done with either of these programs?
  5. Yeah, that's where I have started but it's a little unclear about what the downoads actually do. Will I be able to simply hook up my receiver to the PC and use the software to download the needed data or will I also need to download something to my GPS? Which application and format is the most widely used and user friendly?
  6. I am a newbie (only 5 finds so far) and I want to start downloading coordinates directly to my Garmin 60CSx instead of having to manually imput them every time. What is the best way to go about doing this? Do I need to first download an application of somekind to my PC and if so, which one? Thanks in advance! M@tt
