  1. Great job Bit & Chuck.... Some new blood might actually hide some caches inside the 240 loop and beyond in the outlying counties you mentioned. Bugman has Crittenden County pretty covered up though. We were all newbies once. The only way to grow the sport is with newbies. Great article. Thanks for being our poster-children.
  2. Same as the hammer boy. I've logged about 75% of the caches at Herb Parson's but don't mind cleaning up around the lake if that gets the most votes. I tend to agree that Shelby Farms itself is not too terribly "trashed".
  3. Yeah Hammer, I'd love to hunt it with you. It's the closest one to my house that I have not found yet (that and "Briarpatch", heh heh, you know how hard those micros are to find in the woods ) Ponds, I'm really looking forward to your cache. Sounds like a great idea. I think most folks enjoy a good challenge. I'm not sure if 30 miles between legs is a good idea though...but it would sure give ol JamieZ a good workout on the bike Regarding the crytography, It is my impression that geocachers in general are a pretty geeky/techie bunch and would welcome a new challenge especially if it involved instructions (sorry if I offended any of you nerds out there in denial but, come on, you hunt lunchboxes with what? I'm sure everyone of us also knows how to program the VCR, right? Or could back BEFORE you got the TiVo) Mile hikes are good if you want to help discourage it being undertaken in a single day as well as the distance between the caches but like Bitbrain said, it can become a chore to maintain. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with it and looking forward to the challenge.
  4. I voted for the 22nd but really any weekend but the 8th or 15th is fine with me. Looking forward to it Chris. There must be a 'cacher nearby.... I smell DEET!
  5. Count me in but I will be a little on the late side due to trick or treatin'. (And yeah, I've already been told I'm a little too old for that but I just refuse to grow up!) There must be a 'cacher nearby.... I smell DEET!

  7. Anybody in the Memphis Area interested in meeting someplace to watch the episode? Say.. Fox & The Hound, next Thursday, 6:30? There must be a 'cacher nearby.... I smell DEET!
  8. Will this be a BYOH event? (Bring your own HAMMER) There must be a 'cacher nearby.... I smell DEET!
  9. Saturdays would probably work best for me as well. Hey, we could have it somewhere near Shelby Farms and then hit the Haunted Corn Maze and compare tracklogs afterwards. There must be a 'cacher nearby.... I smell DEET!
  10. Man Bit... I wish I would've known about this sooner. I don't kayak but I sure love camping and canoeing and have been down the Spring River many many times. I wish the info had been bumped up in the threads a little sooner as I would've been able to go with a little more notice. Definitely count me in for the Spring trip. Have you been on the Eleven Point River? Just about 30 min. further up in Missouri? There must be a 'cacher nearby.... I smell DEET!

  12. I am going to do my best to be there. $0.30 wings, woohoo! Ain't no thang... just a chicken wang. "When life hands you lemons, ask for a bottle of tequila and salt."
  13. After work or Sunday lunch work best for me but my schedule is pretty flexible. Looking forward to the get-together. "When life hands you lemons, ask for a bottle of tequila and salt."
