  1. Last April I did an 11 mile trip from Buckhurst Hill Tube to Loughton Tube via, I think, 7 caches, but that did involve a several hour stop at a pub in Loughton with a crowd of incredibly insane, like minded individuals, and several pints of excellent ale and a cholesterol rich bacon butty (or 2) , and an excellent day it was too! PS To all friends in the know out there, I was re-instated to-day, with a clean bill of health, and start back at work, after Easter, after nearly 14 months off.
  2. .....just got in from the club Congrats and glad you enjoyed the trip round Sunninghill!!!!!!!
  3. Well done John. Congrats from Isobel and myself, glad to have played a small part in your epic adventure south of Watford Gap!
  4. Yes, sorry about that, hunting for a series of commercial type caches in Tesco's at the time , found enough to last us till next Friday!! (at least the dozen in green glass containers might )
  5. Many congrats to Lizzzeeee who hit the ton yesterday in Sunninghill.
  6. ....about 2 hours one glorious afternoon the summer before last I seem to remember. Mind you Cleudo took a lot longer, about 3 trips out I think.
  7. It did sort of happen to me..........here!
  8. I thought that was a pic of him holding his mobile phone: phoning someone for help to find a cache ......unfair, on that occasion he was under the influence of southern (mediocre) beer!
  9. Hey, check out Google before midnight...... .....there's a virtual holding a physical dodgydaved I'm NOT lost, I know exactly where I am, I'm here!
  10. Nice one Chris, keep the SEBerks flag flying high!!!!! Dave dodgydaved I'm NOT lost, I know exactly where I am, I'm here!

  12. quote:Originally posted by Slytherin: Not that I ever have to decode the clues anyway, but I know that other people might Alex. ------------------------------------------------ Knights of the Green Shield stamp and shout..... ........no, but I bet the odd phone call in the middle of one of my year 10i IT lessons has helped....... dodgydaved I'm NOT lost, I know exactly where I am, I'm here!
  13. quote:Originally posted by Stu & Sarah: Who gets the award for furthest travelled? I'm guessing at Pharisee... .......I think am going to grab that award, Sunninghill, Berkshire, unless of course anyone knows differently.......... As stated elsewhere I had a great time at the Werneth Low Bache. I know I drank too much beer and smoked too many cigars; I know I renewed some great friendships and made others. At 0830 I staggered down the M60, M56 missed the M6 turn and went North instead of South but got back to Sunninghill about 1145. Many thanks to all for a truly stupendous event. And I stll can't get over the view from the top at night. Still I now know 2 new and important facts. Seasider has so many finds because he runs to them. AdrianJohn created the best collective noun for us lot that I have heard. A stupidity of geocachers! And thank goodness we are all stupid enough to hunt for tupperware in the rain and have a good time doing it. Take care everyone and I hope to see you again another day! dodgydaved I'm NOT lost, I know exactly where I am, I'm here!
  14. ....possibly not. Earlier this year The Hornet found one of my caches in a bush just a few inches from a cache that had been placed there 18 months previously by a cacher who publishes his caches on another site. When I put mine in the bush I had not noticed the other cache!!!!!! ps I have since moved mine to a bush a few feet away and ammended the cache page appropriately dodgydaved I'm NOT lost, I know exactly where I am, I'm here!
  15. I believe Mr Piddington was referring to the ELDER statesman of caching (well in the Watford area anyway ).....The Hornet dodgydaved I'm NOT lost, I know exactly where I am, I'm here!

London & UK Geocaching Resources: http://www.sheps.clara.net Goodness gracious me yes, especially those that are miles from the nearest tube, have hidden ponds and stones in stumps, are up the top of trackless banks in woods, and where the bacon butties are so deliciously cholesterol full they must be lethal. dodgydaved I'm NOT lost, I know exactly where I am, I'm here!
  18. Hi Kidder, 100 since you moved my wheelie bin!! Thats Great!!!! I must have a go at a couple of yours sometimes, but they seem very difficult, not just a little wander in the pines like Annes Afternoon Out?!!?!! dodgydaved I'm NOT lost, I know exactly where I am, I'm here!

  20. quote:Originally posted by Chris n Maria: we would firmly recommend the partaking of refreshments at the Monsal Head Hotel (next to the Car Park). Yummy food (especially for non meat eaters), and so Chris tells me, good beers (guess who ended up driving when we went there?) Maria If only life had an undo button.... London & UK Geocaching Resources: http://www.sheps.clara.net ......and the dodgydaved family would recommend the food and ale at The Anglers Rest in Millers Dale or the Red Lion in Litton, both only a couple of miles distant!! and have a great holiday in God's Own Acre! dodgydaved I'm NOT lost, I know exactly where I am, I'm here!
