Yes Marty same report, I didn't realise Haggis Hunter had posted about it, he had picked it up from my earlier post on the Geo-x forum. Having never heard of that forum I Googled Geo-X and soon found it was a "speciality" site for those that love the shoe. Each to his own I guess.

Hello I'm new here + 2 questions...
currykev replied to topmonkey's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Aaaah. The popular "PAF" method. "Post A Find" by any means. Much used by those that have trouble logging a DNF. Some may call it cheating. -
There seem to be two geocaches in Tripoli, although the one at the harbour has been reported missing. Don't worry. Once the Yanks move in there will be more caches than the forthcoming McD's and Starbucks.

Logging your own cache as a find

It has taken you 8 years to ask that question? I'm impressed. -
How far do PM caches and non-PM caches have to be apart?
currykev replied to Darren V's topic in General geocaching topics
Once you resolve the PM question. Then you have to move onto the final position of a Multi question. I'd ask your local reviewer before you waste your time. -
I have a feeling I know what your after.

I don't do Sky. For many reasons. Sky employee buying clothes from Oxfam (other charidees available)? I remain very skeptical.
-
I equate it to the Gaddafi / UK situation. Those with the power will accept a situation if they profit from it. But once out of favour it shall be "caching non grata"
-
....or a vigilant cache owner will.

I think most were born in the 60's. Others more young have better things to do. Those were the days my friend.

The All New All New Groundspeak UK Pub Quiz
currykev replied to Simply Paul's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Never liked that Sooty dude. Always whispering into Mr Corbett's ear. But Sweep was as cool as. Don't know the answer to the Q though, sorry! -
Can I please ask that the next team to do the ET series put my name on the logs too. Seems like I don't have to be there to find em.

Is this a new thin end of the wedge?
currykev replied to Captain Gore-tex's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
The advice in the Topic that you can not condone, happened to be formulated after the UK Reviewers carefully discussed it. One of those Reviewers being a Serving Police Officer. Deci That doesn't make it right now does it? Can you not see the ridiculousness of going to the police because someone has stolen your lunch box? Do as you see fit. But I feel police time is better spent catching real criminals. -
Is this a new thin end of the wedge?
currykev replied to Captain Gore-tex's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Some a**-bandits have strange ways of getting their kicks. Once again I cannot condone that thread Andy K links us to. It's a plastic box out in the wild. That's all. Nothing more. -
I do not agree at all with you on this aspect. You might be right with respect to the development of categories that capture what you enjoy about virtual caches. I am familiar with your Best Kept Secrets category and other waymark categories which contain locations that I regard as worth to visit, but which to not satisfy my idea of a virtual cache. I could not think of a reasonable category one could try to suggest to integrate virtual caches of the type I have in mind (I mentioned further above my last cache as example of a cache that I would have liked to set up as virtual in a slightly different way than its current form). Waymarking is much better suited to deal with virtual traditionals than with virtual multi-stage caches with and without mystery components. I agree with you, however, on another aspect. I am pretty sure that the way virtuals will return will leave many unhappy (most likely myself included). Cezanne I read that 3 times and still don't know what you said.

I'm quiet impressed. Good luck.

That ET Highway trail.
-
I'd get bored very quickly with such a power trail.
-
I agree with burtsbodgers. If you like the find then use it as an example. Forget the tedious anti micro comments as so many micros are in great places. Size isn't important at all. It's the cache spot and the hunt.(and the hint if a tough hide) Good Luck

Quick cache and dash abroad?
currykev replied to Vodor and Scorsby's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Den Haag is my favourite European city caching spot. You could combine with Amsterdam caching too. Ireland is too expensive these days. But I suppose someone has to pay their debts. Portugal is full of cunning caches. Germans love a ? cache or 6. Sweden offers friendly locals. Denmark the opposite. Athens is fab for good hill walking. But Spain wins for me. For every occasion. -
