The 310 and 330 as well as all the 300 series uses the same cable for data and or pwr the diff between the 300 series and the meridian modles is the angle of the connector. If you have a "mount" for it you can finagle it to werk, otherwise you have to be carfull when you screw the connector onto the back off the unit, But it will work the same. The Pin outs for the data cable are the same for both if not all magellan products. The 310 is numaric data screen with NEMA COMMUNICATIN ONLY (for PC/PDA realtime tracking) the 330 has a base map and ability to upload/download WPT+RT as well as NEMA Capability for realtime tracking on PC/PDA for $15.00 you can get the right cable without any fuss

It might with a little whittling on the connector on the cable to the receiver "BUT", It can only Input/Output NEMA DATA at a low bitrate NO DOWNLOADING/UPLOADING. Read the following 310 FAQ @ Magellangps.com

I had this happen a couple of times too! Tried new batts and power cables. My fix was to go back to an earlyer version of the HEX code. I just installed The latest and it has'nt caused the Flashing on-off (LCD Screen Darkens, Lightens, Unit stays OFF). Messing with Lawyer screen and other tweeks to the HEX file will result in this same type phenom. Using fail safe start up/UPLOAD was the only way to fix for me.

I dont have the STP but the Pati, with 64 Meg SD, I can and do always save my "track" after every outing, it's great for plotting on the PC to see the differences in sat tracking during differant times and dates. and also to share with other MAG user's, You can use tracks to create Back track routes BUT it averages some waypoints and is not that accurate(especially for boating). save your Traks every time and then clear the map befor the next trip! You can load a track for a trip that you have taken before or are near and use an older "TRACK" for refferance.

Mapsend TOPO is the Same "F"EN thing as streets and destinations minus the TOPO LINES!! Go friggen figure

The latest Version 's of mapsend wil export the WPTs to an XM: (excell) format from there you can print the WPT Lat/long and descrip

look in the MAPSEND.INI file and you will see a line of code for theSD card size. Just a thought.. only 4 sats! 1) Stand steady make sure Ant is pointing directly up (if under tree's ). 2) With only four sat's showing, you might have been getting heat distortion (yes, heat distortion). "Night Time" is the best time for A true "LOCK". 3)Or, one or more of the sat's being tracked might have fallen off while another or others took over on reception to your part of the Globe? all are possible. 4)Week batteries? would like to know why you only have 4 sat's being recieved

Any one wish to trade a NEW SEALED CD of Mapsend TOPO For Mapsend Bluenav? I live in SW Florida so Topo is a mute piece of software for me how ever i did pay $99.00 for it.

It will (on the Platinum) as long as you set it up to do so in the "map setup" section. With map displayed, "menue, Map setup, Orientation, select "Magnetic HDG up". This works well if the unit is mounted but when held in the hand while moving it makes the map display rotate more and gives me the heebee jeebee's Now if I can only find that rock I dropped into the shag carpet.

I changed the base map on my plat to marine and the only diff was that the some POI's, Nav aids and marina locations were added to the unit, Mapsend topo still functiond the same Now if I can only find that rock I dropped into the shag carpet.

Any metalic object near the unit will cause it to read false. (watch,ring,soda can) Always calibrate on non-magnetic surface, and use a real compass to verify accuracy. I have only calibrated my unit once just for S's and Giggles. I have noticed that the base unit will cause slight deviation on readings when the unit is mounted. The MeriPlat is a great device. It will chew up the less expensive batts with the light on, or with one of the compass displays showing while in use. Totaly customizable display screens for your viewing pleasure. Screens can be Edited to show only the information you deem necessary and Enable or Disable Total Screens all together so you can scroll to the screens you most use without getting lost on in the unit. Batt has lasted me around 10-15 hr continious use. Reception is great under cover and during T-Showers. Ive used it in an auto with 6 sat's visible @ 65 mph and accuracy is dead nuts on. Cookie crumbs (Repeted traks) are dead nuts on with days apart on readings. Easy to add edit waypoints/routes, Baro Function is great for forcasting, Compass is nice to have on hand. Extra mem (S.D. Palm Compatable Memory works) can be had for around $1.00 per Meg or LESS!(64 meg for $49.95 at best buys). Able to use Backtrak and save track to route. Uploadable "Regions" allow for extreem detail for streets and trails, address lookup, street lookup, POI lookup.(Mapsend topo/Streets needed) In the End I like My MagiNum. But I suspect that in the attempt to upload a "ROM" file REQUIERS a serial connector!(the ol 9 pin) Comm ports are either Odd or Even, so if your using com 5 (usb is emmulating) then try com 3 or 1. vise~versa for the evens. Now if I can only find that rock I dropped into the shag carpet.

I would think that such behavior would warrent suspicion by Park Rangers or P.O's. If they were to be observed "Stalking" you. That was so wrong of them to do and I hope others wont be the same way. I use a MeriPlat, and today I was out on the gulf front (S/W Florida) under a gazzebo with a 30'+ roof and lost all sats ( I had 11 when I went under) the roof has a tin cover! the sides of the gazzeb are wide open. Under tree cover though it does loose a little sig strength , however if holding/setting the unit down for a few minutz it gets right down to the foot including the elevation! Now if I can only find that rock I dropped into the shag carpet.
