  1. Just out of curiosity, are the cachers who are doing this premium members?
  2. Thanks for the info Best get saving my pennies.
  3. Oops - just a recent thread which is asking the same sort of questions. Doh!
  4. At the moment I'm using a basic Etrex H to cache with and it does a great job.....the only problem is that I always get lost on the roads to cache sites I'm a very bad navigator indeed I'm looking for a unit that would help get me (and keep me) on the right roads (I don't drive so an in car system would be no good). It's all very confusing as there is such a wide variety of units to choose from. I've never seen some of the more sophisticated units in action so I'm a bit unsure what to expect from them. From what I've gathered the basemap that comes with certain units isn't very detailed and only shows major roads - is this correct? It looks as though the topographic maps are expensive to buy too, although I know that some units come with them preloaded. Basically, I'm looking for something which I can paperless cache with and has good road maps. Something which is at the cheaper end of the market and is relatively easy to use. I certainly don't want the most expensive unit out there and I haven't yet decided on a budget - this is something that I'm going to have to save for. Any advice would be much appreciated - there's no rush, unless my lotto numbers come up this weekend
  5. Thanks Bear and Ragged. Very helpful as always
  6. Thanks for that. It's really helpful but looks very complicated. Just one more question then I'll b*gger off Will I have to run the 'my found caches' query every time I need to update my stats or does it automatically do it?
  7. Thanks. Do you know if there is a crib sheet on the forums somewhere that will walk me through the process?
  8. Just a quick question which will more than likely lead me to asking lots of other quick questions.... How do you get the custom made statistics page that a lot of people seem to have? I'd really like to be able to set one up but something tells me that it's not going to be as easy as I want it to be Thanks in advance
  9. Fir trees bring me out in a rash
  10. Fingers crossed that this glitch might get corrected during the 4th May site updates
  11. Thanks for all the information on this. I'm pleased (although not for everyone else) that this is not just happening to me
  12. Just tried Firefox and that ain't showing no smilies either
  13. The little 'my finds' smilies aren't showing when I click on the map. I haven't changed by browser (Google Chrome) or anything like that. Is anyone else having the same issues? Or does anyone know why this has suddenly happened?
  14. Useful to know! That's my Plan B now. Really easy to do but you must be careful not to glue the buttons
  15. When my rubber edge came away from my gps I rang Garmin who said they would fix it but I would have had to pay postage and be without my gps for a while. I just bought some of that cheap superglue, cleaned the gunk from the rubber and glued it back into place. Worked a treat and only cost £1
  16. May I suggest you invest in a case for the unit as with some models the rubber edge comes away. I have recently just bought a cable and driver disk from a well known internet auction site which works great. Enjoy your new gadget!
  17. "You put your left hand up, your right hand up" Sing along folks "Then you put your left foot up, your right foot up" Oh hokey cokey cokey.........
  18. That's the style.........I mean the stile in the background!
  19. Doh! I found out how to do it. Very cool
  20. Cool! Sooooooo, I've ran a PQ and sent it to GSAK. Now how do I change the code of the caches (I want to number them). Sick of me yet?
  21. Is there a GSAK help thread anywhere?
