  4. If you surf lots, there are are some deals happening for the Garmin 60C (Garmin has replaced this model but is still honoring and mantaining it). I like the ability to get reception better then my old GPS.

  6. Now I know what I can do this winter. Chart and log all the coin sale sites (I have them bookmarked in favorites...although some are by club sign up only). Someone turned me on to coin tracking but there is a subscription fee although you can contact the people individually. Also that site sells some of the peoples coins..... Lemon Fresh if you still have a coin contact me!!!! My Kirby dog wants one for his collar Here's what I have Available http://cointracking.com/public/sunkat Anyone want to sponser some coin idea's my hubby almost croaked when I told him how much it cost for them to be made.
  7. It would cost less than $200 after the rebate, If you bought from tigergps.com it would be $209.33 - $50 rebate = $159.33 I agree it is way worth spending the little more and getting this over the yellow 60 series or the gpsmap 60. Well, whether good or bad, I found a GPSMAP 60C for 238 dollars and hubby said ok (I think, his comment was "That's not a bad price" don't know if that mean ok but I took it as such). thanks all!!!!
  8. that's what we were wondering.... I was hoping the GPSMAP 60C would be discounted as it's being discontinued but no such luck... story of my life (hummmm wonder if I should wait and see what happens to the market.) thanks!!! kate
  9. I'm trying to explain to my husband why I should have a Garmin GPSMAP 60 vs the Garmin 60 (no color on either out of our price range). He wants to know what other Geocachers have to say about why I need the MAP one vs the no map.... anyone who can help one way or the other ... He's looking at it from the price stand point as the Garmin 60 is 139 dollars vs the MAP60 which is 229 dollars... Please help! I'm still too new to give him an educated reason. Thanks Kate
  10. Hummmm maybe I'll get lucky and the fairy will make it to South Bend....what a neat idea the fairy has us all buzzing.
  11. Was trying to add a caches to a bookmark list and getting the following error. As I'm new I'm wondering if it's something I did wrong or if bookmarks has an issue... Can anyone help? Thanks, Kate Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'UserID', table 'GEO.dbo.Bookmarks'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated.
  12. This was so cool to be a part of... As my hubby's family is from Turino Italy he was excited to know that at least we had a coin floating in Italy! Hope Hogwild is having a great time!!!!! Kate
  13. I'm still relatively new to Geocaching too. You'll find that most people have either Garmin or Magellan GPS. I bought a Garmin Legend for my first one (grey scale). It has been pretty good for us to start. What I've noticed is that all show different findings depending on how it picks up the satellites. You could do what we're doing.. buy a little better then low end priced one and if you both like it you can upgrade yours and give the other to your son. I find my 12 yr old and I battle for the GPS when we're together. I still haven't figured out what I'll get now but it will be different so that we can use the two to cross match where we think the cache is (I've been out with groups and seen that different ones show different results and it's helped when we can cross check). Also if you find you like geocaching there are some cool events around and also I'd get the premium membership... GL
  14. Which is easiest and are they free or how much do they cost? Thanks
  15. Well after using my current GPS (we are keeping it for my son) for a while, my hubby and I realize I don't always key waypoints right (getting dsylexic in my old age). So for Christmas he would like to get me a new GPS... Any suggestions? I need something easy to do. I am looking at the Magellan 500 or Garmin GPSMAP 60 (not in color) but don't know how well they transfer points from geocache. Also would like to hear peoples thoughts on these two or other GPS's... Thank You in Advance for any help
  16. Too bad caches aren't big enough to hold platoons! Could hook a whole army to one bug! Darn, three stores and all they have are Red Rescue guys will have to keep searching till I get some troops. sunkat
