I am a mom to two girls and we are traveling to the jungles of Belize and spending some time on a couple of cayes. I would like to geocache while I am down there. I have always used my android samsung galaxy to find and locate geocaches. I don't have a hand held gps (should I get one?). I am turning my data and cell plan off to avoid the international charges and I would like to map out the locations prior to getting there in case gps does not work. I can't figure out how to do it. When looking for caches near the location of the hotel where we are staying... I put in the gps coordinates from google maps (for the location in Belize) I get an upstate NY location instead. So that is confusing eh?
Basically, I would like to do some planning in advance so that when we get there - if we have technical difficulties- we will still be able to geocache. I don't want to disappoint the kids.
How can I go about planning this in advance? Thanks everyone!
