  1. I guess it's really helpful for the TO to specify there feelings on log activity on its page. We just sent out 6 and I'm hoping for A LOT of logs. I show the kids where it's been on the map. If there are no pix included, I'll look for pix on the cache page. They can learn so much. The little ones don't necessarily stick around for all it, but it's even fun for me. Activity was the point of sending them out. And since half of mine have so far gone MIA, I'm hoping the others might pick up the slack. We go out of our way to fill the requests of a TO.
  2. Well, when someone has taken the time to put out a cache for you to fimd and is a pretty good one. Don't you think they would appreciate a little more than a TFTC? Now a guardrail cache or a LPC thats okay. To me it seems the lazy way to log the cache. Did you enjoy the cache? Then say so. Nothing good to say? TFTC just an automatic log not much thought put into it. People put more effort in placing it and deserve more than a TFTC. Just my opinion. Better than a log that just states their name or a smiley face tho. On phones the TFTC automatic log. Every cache is a lttle different, so why shouldn't the logs be dfferent? Just me. Cache owners lkie myself enjoy readng the logs. Not TFTC TFTC TFTC The more of those that are posted the less apt i am to place more caches. Everyone is different. Good information to have. I doubt many cachers would think of that without having actually placed one. Looks like so many logs are from people who are recently getting started, and it's certainly easy to take it for granted or not even realize the efforts or disappointments involved. Personally, I'm amazed at how people find some of the locations we end up in! (I have a big hurdle to the location I want for my first one.) I actually do try to give more info and/or compliments often, but if I write TFTC, it REALLY is appreciated. Being an over-thinker, I also worry that I will bore people with too much babble. Now I'll probably over-think that too!
  3. baack40... Can I ask why you don't like TFTC? Still new and I thought it was a quick way of showing appreciation. Therefore I use it a lot and don't want to bother anyone. Thanks!
  4. Would it be too much trouble to require each cacher to email you for the combination? You could ask a question that adequately proves to you that they have never been dead. I don't know, do zombies still possess the ability to read or access a computer? I gave my old iPhone to my kids for Christmas and they promptly lost it. It's conceivable that they could have gotten their hands on it. That's assuming their hands haven't fallen off.
  5. And I don't "mass Visit" all trackables in our possession to all caches we find - I try to do it selectively. Why not mass visit? I'm still new and love TBs. I'm holding on to some TBs a bit longer than I'm completely comfortable with in order to get them moving hundreds of miles on some trips that are finally almost here. I like to log them all everywhere I go. 1. Let's them know they're not lost. 2. I often add pix especially since I have kids and I'm trying to teach them stuff through the TBs we've sent out. 3. Thought they'd like to have more miles added. So I'll go ahead ask a related question. Did I make the wrong decisions to hold to (for example) a TB for over a month, knowing it would be moved 800 miles closer to its goal? Many go that much time or way longer with no activity at all.
