  1. Hmmm, Tesco caught me out with their 50% off the Garmin GPS I purchased from Tesco Direct. I later realised that it was 50% off the "Recommended Retail Price" and I had paid about £20 more than other companies deals.
  2. Hopefully not an excuse for another crop of nanos and micros!
  3. You do right to go back to sleep! I fell for the Tesco 'half price' promotion and bought a Garmin GPSmap 60CSX for £220 or thereabouts and then doing some Googling found I could have purchased it elsewhere for £180!!.....beware though some advertise for sale at the lower price and THEN add VAT bringing it up to around the £220 mark!
  4. From your co-ords, head south west, if your feet get wet -you've gone too far! I should tell you I am the person who got lost going to the last to events while using sat nav I have no idea how I ended up geocaching with my really really really bad sense of direction "Excuse me but I'm over here!
  5. "After FTF" 'x' number of finds later it's still there!
  6. Amazon are selling the 60Csx as below: RRP: £244.99 Price: £178.51 & this item Delivered FREE in the UK with Super Saver Delivery. See details and conditions You Save: £66.48 (27%) Tesco are selling it "1/2 price" for 220.18 with collection from store. Who is kidding who or am I missing something?
  7. My concentration waned to the point that I was 'speed reading' through this topic. I must say I personally like MissJenn's style. I do have a good as new 'naughty chair' I could be persuaded to donate if it would assist acceptable, albeit robust, discussion.
  8. Eeee bi gum lad, what's tha dooin' up 'ere wi this lot? Tha's not spoken to thi mates from t' Land a Broad Acres yet. Sithee get thisen logged in wi "Yorkshire geocaching" and spake to them thats got some nouse! They mek thi 'ead pound 'ere sometimes wi the fratching. An jus' be wary about them 'arrogate lads - they's buggers for leavin' golf balls in them theer boxes. Right, sing't anthem lad: "On Ilkla' Moor Bah't 'at....."
  9. Googling the author's name seems to suggest that she lives in America and the article has appeared in magazines or journals in New York and Canada! On the other hand I may have misinterpreted the findings of my search as I couldn't find a copy of the full text of the article repeated anywhere. That could be due to my lack of expertise in internet interrogation! In the article Mike Cowling is credited as the photographer of Elizabeth Eidlitz. Google list that the Yorkshire Post has a photographer of that name! Over to you Sherlock!
  10. Now it's a bit too small But it does save me having to scroll sideways a lot to read it... Could it be something to do with the difference in domestic electricity supply voltage between U.K. and U.S.? Actually I thought the first published edition was more eye-catching
  11. Just been logging some caches that I have done over the last three days and it gives today's date on each log rather than previous dates that I had adjusted the counter to display. Stardate: 4 hours later- "Date working now!"
  12. Funny you should say this but my Etrex Venture has behaved exactly the same today and I did the same as you with no positive result. Wonder if it was at Garmin's end where the problem lay. Will have another go now and also note JohnTee's comment. Well, mine was already set up as suggested by JohnTee but still didn't work. Evntually uninstalled and reinstalled Garmin plug in and again the test result was that it wasn't detected. Then saw it was wanting the 'thingummy -X' program so gave it that and it is now working!
  13. Same for me... .. Not complaining.. Just reporting for info
  14. Seems far from a bargain price or am I missing something?
  15. Not sure what UK-centric means but how about this: Geocaching uk http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2653370305
  16. Congratulations. A big thank you for the less arduous (physically and/or mentally) of your offerings from one of the less gifted cachers but who has appreciated the scenic locations visited.
  17. Congrats and thanks for the ones you set!
  18. Oops sent it twice...obviously pre-emptive strike effecting PCs. Modification made. I heard that you would be okay if fitted with Duracells!
  19. I heard it was between 0001hrs and 1200hrs on 1st April 2008! Nah, I'm lying, just made that up.
  20. Which one is the sock puppet... ? Easy question - The one with a hand up its elasticated bottom, of course?
  21. I wish I knew what this was all about. I assume a 'sock puppet' is constructed by someone sewing two buttons (eyes) on the sole of a sock and then putting their hand in it. Ventriloquism is then practiced whilst held together fingers open and close on thumb? I assume that a sock needs repair due to a thread becoming unravelled. Darn it! I don't understand the problem (but that doesn't mean there isn't one, of course). Hope I haven't put my foot in it?
  22. Not forgetting Budlaw, who passed 700 today, well done Raymond. Shucks...... Thanks
