  1. hey guys, we're really looking forward to this! you mind adding a "Last Updated: 03/11/2006 " to the cache details page, just to make sure we have the latest gig guide by the weekend? oh! we we're also wondering if there are going be some nice cocktails, with little umbrellas? (sorry if we're so demanding ) Cheers!
  2. hey bob, congrats on the 500! one day you just might be as good as chuck
  3. hmmm... I question that has always bother me: why is it, when swimming in the sea, that the sand in Durban seems to find and collect in every crevice in your costume, while the sand in Cape Town just falls straight through?
  4. We're not busy on either of those dates - though sundays always end up being more relaxed So is C3P a short version of that little robot in Star Wars?.... C3PO.... I think? So what happens to that huge cache count? Did you guys play "Ching-Chong-Cha" to decide who keeps the cache count? hmmm.... I bet Brendan cheated to get the long straws! Look forward to seeing you guys there! Team Farmers
  5. hey, glad to have you guys! Don't have a spare GPS lying around, but I'm sure we can find you an extra water pistol to keep the muggles away. And caching in Joburg is fun!! There's not as many bloody mountains as there is down there in the Cape, unless you do one of GlobalRat's caches.... cos he seems to find every groot koppie we have! then you'll feel right at home! all the best on the move
  6. if you're up here by friday, come and join us for a drink with Brick! gonna be at the Dros, just off the Edenvale/ Modderfontein N3 offramp for a pint. Will post co-ords if you're keen?
  7. Thanks for the wishes GR! If it wasn't for your caches at the top of bloody mountains encrypted in some foreign alien language that even the aliens don't understand, we still might be sane right now but since we're not sane....... CACHE ON!
  8. hmmm... think we're gonna set the co-ordinates of our local police station to "Home"
  9. It all began... a very short, short time ago: < *bring* - turn page > With only 8 cache finds to go for our first centenary, we decided to take it pretty slow while touring the lovely province of Mpumulanga over this past (enjoyable) long weekend... * bring * After travelling over a 1000 kilometres, visiting Barberton, the Sudwala Caves, Blyde River Canyon, White River and finally passing through Nelspruit for the last 2, we thought this would be a breeze... Then suddenly... gearing became a problem with the car suddenly stalling! "Oh no!" the little Team Farmers cried, "what could be wrong?" Slowly getting out the car, one little Team Farmer said: "Hmmm... I think it could the the pressure pad on the clutch which is preventing the clutch from disengaging". "Oh", the other little Team Farmers said. So with just 2 finds to go, we had to abandon our quest (for now), and travel back home to Joburg very slowly in 4th gear... The End * bring * Anybody have a similiar story? - or do you guys have Rolls Royce's?
  10. thanks guys... you're TB is looking good - think you'll be finished before year end?
  11. 'n boer maak a plan, maar 'n engelsman maak a beter plan: use a compass + map don't worry, chuck norris also seems to have a problem with his GPS blowing up on him, everytime he turns it on if you want, we can get chuck to post a comment on the garmin forums? ha ha
  12. GR, GR.... come in GR... <crackle> hmmm.... wanted to check on the status of the racers, though the globalrat.com website seems to be a little fuzzy has the new little geo-rat already got his hands on the website?
  13. hmmm... looks like guys struggle with pitstop #4 maybe everyone struggles with the "work in teams" idea... or is it just the cache? if anyone needs any help, just let us know!
  14. hmmm... well, I'm sure if he falls into the ocean, it will keep him afloat
  15. ".... to calculate who receives the congrats on their 200th find, you'll need to decrypt the code below: a=1, b=2, etc..." Well done 17, 6,3!
  16. actually wonder how many caches there are in limpopo?
  17. thanks noddy! it's really nice to read some of the comments from past events. cache on! Team Farmers
  18. Good day all, I realised that after an event cache is completed, it is normally disabled and archived, which makes it difficult for other geocachers to look it up, and squiz at the photos. (We just love reading the logs from past events It shows how geocaching has grown from the first South African event cache) So if you've ever held an event cache in the past before, please would you place the link here for future generations to read ...I'm sure it would give some geocachers serious nostalgia Our only event cache to date: 33 High Street
  19. I see that a couple of cachers are peanuts... .... what if you are allergic to peanuts? (it can happen!)
  20. well... our watermelon beats your kiwi!
  21. Just checked our ranking (www.geocachingranking.com)... and we seem to be the only Watermelon in South Africa for the moment! gotta luv that fruit! ... but what exactly does it mean? Team Farmers
  22. If it was a long day of caching, we just go through all the waypoints on our Garmin (cos we name them as we go along)... ... else if is a weekend of caching, we tend to log them through the WAP site while we drive to the next one
  23. hey guys, well let us be the first to say: a job well done! looks awesome! see you guys tomorrow!
  24. Hey all, Here's an interesting question which may only apply to "newish" geocachers, and might prove interesting to the "old folk" around here How many of you guys joined Geocaching because you saw it on SABC 3's Top Billing, or heard about it because of the show being aired? To be honest, I only got the last 5 minutes of the show, but was already hooked! Had to wait till December 25th though, before I could treat myself to a Garmin eTrex Venture So let us know if Top Billing also saved you from sudden extinction! (Cos' what would the forums be like if Team Farmers wasn't around, heh? - Thanks Top Billing & Discombob!) Top Billing Cache: click here Top Billing Clip: click here
  25. You know you're addicted to geocaching when... The ranking page is down, so now you check the forums 6 times a day, to see if you're post has climbed up to the top!
