Hi all! My dad and I are very technologically unintelligent, so we would appreciate all the help we can get. my dad has the explorist GC. I recently bought him a new computer with Windows 8 on it (I hate it, btw) now he can't geocaches to load onto his gps because the computer doesn't seem to recognize it... so, he wanted to download 2.13 and did that this morning...but he didn't know how to get it onto his gps...and now I can't find it anywhere on the computer because Windows 8 is obnoxious. Anyone know where I can find it? and when I do find it, how do I get it on the gps? Does anyone know if this update even helps the problem with the Magellan communicator? because when I emailed Magellan support, they told me that they hadn't tried it out with windows 8 and that I should just use an older version of windows....ugh. please help??

hi.. i am packerjim's daughter, and i am trying to help him with his problem... i installed firefox this morning, and we are still having the same problem. i have gotten to the point where after i click "send to gps," the little box where i chose magellan as my gps comes up and says "magellan communicator found" (it only used to say not found...so this seems like progress?) but then it says, "Having issues?" and it gives me a link to download it again...which i don't think i need to do... and has a button to "check device"...but that doesn't seem to do anything. i installed the latest version of firefox and it hasn't changed anything. same results. Sic Semper Tyrannis... my dad isn't a premium member, so can he still use Magellan's Vantage Point program? If you have time, can you please explain more about this? does anyone have any more ideas? thanks!!!!
