  1. Don't be silly.. it will show nothing, simple as that.
  2. With your budget, the Legend HCx or Vista HCx. The H is important, new sensitive chipset and it make a big difference. I would get the Vista because I think the electronic compass is useful when you are close to find the cache. Look at all the topics in the 1st 2-3 pages, many similar question were asked so many answers anlready there for you.
  3. That's the real answer... the build is the longest part.
  4. Rhialto, Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I'm not sure why the WAAS fix was not listed. I do apologize. I will pass this e-mail on to the appropriate department. If you should have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Thank you. 5. A Vista HCx finaly? You'll come back telling us how happy you are, I'm sure!
  6. This was my 1st update and was afraid I messed up for a few seconds. The real update part took maybe 1 second but the verifying right after took almost a minute. The screen was showing LOADER and nothing else, no sign of activity on the computer neither. What a long minute it was! Glad it is ok now because we are going on a week trip and plan to cache go gc a few times.
  7. It would be listed only under the "From" below your name on the left. Group: Premium Members Posts: 652 Joined: 13-November 03 From: Davis, California, USA GPSr: insert here Thus when you see an active member who own a Mio H610 you would be able to ask him (or PM him): Hey I was about to get that unit, how you like it? Or someone who got a 60CS: hey I also have that unit and I'd like to know if yours...
  8. Maybe another reason to go with IPB 2.3? Seriously, I don't want to change the world but I'm just curious how open they are to such upgrade? When was the last time they updraded IPB? Do some part of the fee we all pay to be premium serve to this purpose? Do they go by users request or when they feel it's about time they do something? I'm just curious... now that I'm a bit more active here. edit: oh and I believe this will be asked often so hope it's in the FAQ already or it should be added (or pinned, nah they don't use pin that much here).
  9. Ok I spent a few minutes looking at the link I wrote already which is http://www.invisionize.com/ and I found the age you enter in your profile will display in topic view also. That's not exactly it but it's similar, an input field in profile and it is displayed in topic view. With the v2 they are talking about, do they plan to upgrade to IPB to 2.3 or stay with 2.1? It may be already there in 2.3... look at all the new feature at http://www.invisionpower.com/community/board/ Oh btw, another one I find interesting, last seen displayed below name: http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php?f=6718
  10. mtn-man: a plugin for something similar already exist... so no messing with the code. Once done, if for all the coming years... the GPSr is the tool that we all have in common.
  11. While I understand the idea behind this thread, it is not useful. What we like to know is what active members on the forum use as a GPSr. This thread have dated information and you cannot really find what someone own in a quick way. I know you can also use the signature below like I do but... Please go support the addition of a plugin that will let all Geocachers display the GPSr they use belowe their name <----- here http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=168940
  12. Clear enough and thanks for that. The WAAS don't bother me.. I get 3 meters accuracy without it.
  13. durrantie, HCx is a top performer, par or even insignificantly better than 60CSx but like I already said, you don't choose the unit according to this. Choose it for it's form factor you prefer, the buttons placement, etc. Both are great and I'm sure you read many thread here already discussing and comparing both.
  14. Why they would have fixed the WAAS without writing it in the release notes? This is the most discussed problem, they got many emails regarding this and instead of telling us it has been fixed they list some changes we were not aware of. Maybe it's not fixed after all... I haven't downloaded it yet. I wonder if they improved the French language option? Never seen worse.
  15. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=168940 would be a much better idea than reading a thread with old reply. Please go drop a line you want it also. Thanks.
  16. I had one red flashing but not always there, I rarely see it... I also hate it when I get something new and it has a problem. Yet I decided to keep it and see what will happen. I plan to use it a lot more in the next weeks.
  17. There are plenty input already... BTW I never heard of the HC series. Maybe you meant Cx? The H is new in the eTrex family and yes they are much better than any other bloew because of the new high sensivity chip.
  18. Was more thinking of a firmware issue... if a few confirm I will submit to Garmin and see what they have to say.
  19. There a thread by me with a comparison of both unit side to side. I'm too lazy to go find it, maybe in the 1st 3 pages. Both unit are VERY CLOSE but a slight edge on the HCx. You should really not care about this anyway, choose the form factor you prefer instead.
  20. 9/10 here... I wish someone who own 2 different units will compare.
  21. Any chance this will happen? Not tomorrow but in a near future...
