  1. When you live in the boonies, you tend to hide more than you find. Thus, 13 found 15 hidden 1:1.15 ratio ~~~If you hide it in an ammo container, it will stay dry.~~~
  2. Upon closer inspection, I see that the otter likes micro and virtual caches. Oh well. To each their own. Personally, I like to seek out that ammo container cache way out in the boonies. When I find it, I open up that ammo box and take a big whiff of the old, dank odor inside. Indeed, it is quite invigorating. Best of all, the contents inside always seem to stay bone dry.
  3. And while we're on the subject of shamelessy promoting our own caches , I would just like to remind people to check out the 10 caches nearby Ryan's boat-only cache. All 10 are within 25 miles of Alexandria. So to all those Twin Cities folks who need a vacation this fall, spend a weekend in the Alex. area and have some fun hunting for those caches. If you hide it, they will come.

  7. I have a question for all of my fellow geocachers. *********************************************** Would you rather pay the $30 so you can go after a MO cache that has several clues, thus fairly easy to find if you were a member? Or, would you rather not become a member and go after a cache that had no clues at all, thus harder to find. At the present time I feel that these are the only 2 choices I have for preventing plunderage. I've been giving this whole MO vs. public caches some thought and am leaning towards going with all public caches with no clues given. I feel that this is a good compromise because it gives everyone the oppurtunity to look for one of my caches, although it may be hard to find them, yet it should help to impede any potential plunderer. If you hide it, they will come.
  8. I will say it again for the umpteenth time. For a good water-proof cache container, nothing beats the ammo can. If you hide it, they will come.

  10. Well, so far I have only purchased the $20 annual state park pass. I could also see myself camping occaisionally. I will continue to visit the MN state parks, even though geocaching is banned there. If you hide it, they will come.
  11. I agree totally with your idea. Sounds like a great addition, especially considering how some areas are becoming so saturated with caches. If you hide it, they will come.

  14. I am looking for 2 more members for my geodash team: one person from the Twin Cities area who can cover the SE quadrant of MN and one person from the Duluth area who can cover the NE quadrant of MN. Please check out this website for more info:www.geodashing.org The next geodashing game begins August 1, so we must move quickly. Email me if interested. If you hide it, they will come.
  15. They're not allowed in MN SNA's. There was a previous post (don't remember which one) discussing this in detail. If you hide it, they will come.
  16. Markwell: I'm pretty sure that I can get to that one before September. If you hide it, they will come.

  18. I couldn't make it to the party either, but I did my part by leaving a bunch of travelbugs for you guys to use. If you hide it, they will come.

  20. Um trust me. You dont want that site. According to that site, there are only 5! caches hidden in MN. Actually, there are over 350 hidden there. Stick a fork in that other site please. It is toast. There is and always will be only one geocaching site: www.geocaching.com If you hide it, they will come.

  22. No, wait. I just read somewhere that state forests in MN are fair game. I will post link once I find it. If you hide it, they will come.
  23. I just carry a pen in my pocket at all times. It eliminates the whole "need to worry about having a sharp pencil" ordeal and makes this whole discussion a moot point. Sometimes if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

  25. First of all, excuse the avatar. I changed it awhile ago but it hasn't updated for some reason. In MN I do believe definite no-no's are state parks, national parks, and national forests. As of right now, I see that caches are still in the state parks and are still being found. The Blue Mounds cache page one was found only a week ago.
