  1. Beautiful coin. If taking orders, please put me down for one. Frog Prince
  2. I will take 5 more if they are still available Frog Prince
  3. I would like 5 of the Virginia Geocoins Thanks Frog Prince
  4. I use GSAK and Delorme Street Atlas on my older Dell in the Jeep when I travel or geocache. That's about as far as it goes...my old Palm IIIc follows me into the field. i just upgraded from a MeriPlat to a Garmin 76cx so i will probably use autorouting on the Garmin rather than the laptoop.
  5. Mine is still gray this morning and is scheduled to run tomorrow (11/17) in the evening.
  6. I just got one last night, and I did nothing to generate it. I think it's been exactly a week since I triggered my first one. I have the same problem....I now get the My Finds PQ every 7 days and there is no way to shut it off. The Add to Queue" button is grayed out and will not allow me to deselect it. I love the feature and mine was accurate...I just want to be able to stop it!
  7. My family history includes a story of my grandfather, as a young pattern maker, making the first pattern for Mr. Peanut. The concept was brought to him by a youngster. Later in life he became a prominent businessman in the peanut business. This waymark is to identify locations where Mr. Peanut is displayed. Picture will be required when logging find.
  8. Category Proposal for Places/Buildings The corner drug store is a vanishing breed. This category is for pharmacies that still have the soda fountain/cafe in addition to a prescription department. Chain pharmacies are not allowed. Logging would require a picture of the outside of the pharmacy and of the soda fountain/cafe.
  9. I bought 2250mA-Hr batteries from http://www.batteryspace.com/ at a very reasonable price and get between 10 - 12 hours from them. I also keep a car charger with me just in case I run out. The battery bar reads about 75% when fully charged in my Magellans. I have also found that "depleted" AA batteries from digital camera will give me about 6-8 hours in my Meidian Platinum or SproTrak....so don't throw them away....use them in your GPS. I get friends to save them for me. http://www.geocities.com/frog_prince_n_princess/index.html
  10. I would not include references to caches on one site in a cache listing on another site. If I want to find a cache listed on a particular site, I will search that site for caches in the area where I intend to hunt. I believe each cache is a unique "individual" and do not feel identical caches should be cross listed on two or more sites. I enjoy physical caches...the woods, getting messy, and putting my hands in places the Princess would never go. The Princess enjoys finding as well as creating ideas for Locationless caches...as long as she doesn't get dirty! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?II...96c&LID=6583655 We enjoy the benefits offered by two sites as they meet our needs and keep us both interested in the sport..."together". There is plenty of "GeoTerra" available for everyone, or all ages and abilities, to hide caches and have fun finding them. FP&P http://www.geocities.com/frog_prince_n_princess/index.html
  11. Come on, that long integer or what ever has to run out sometime (doesn't windows limit you to 65535 items in a list box?). Just wondering how all of you create these massive pocket queries (like an entire state). Do you do it in dozens of queries, or is there something I'm missing? For Virginia I have 12 PQ that I run on alternating days. Each is for 500 caches within a 500 mile radius. They can give a lot of duplication depending on the cache concentration in an area but the process seems to work well. For Locationless and out of state caches, I have a separate "Found By Me" PQ which I run whenever I locate one of these caches. My Christmas wish is to be able to download information when a cache is permanently archived. Clyde...thanks for a great product. GSAK has furthered my addiction!
  12. There are several state maintained wildlife management areas in Virginia that I regulary visit. These areas provide public areas for camping, fishing and hunting. I would like to place a cache in an area where hunting is not allowed (locating it in the camping and fishing areas). The land is public state land and is not associated with any federal agency that does not permit geocaching. I am not aware of any restriction that the state has againt geocaching. What do the rest of you think about placing a cache at a wildlife management area. Have any of you ever done this or are you aware of other caches in such an area. Thanks!!!

  14. We were always taught that if you want to find a BM in the AM you need to take MOM in the PM. Hope this helps!!
  15. I just created my profile and want to enter my location using longitude and latitude. The requested format (WGS48) is (N/S HDDD MM.MM) and(E/W HDDD MM.MM)(WGS84 datum). I know my location in DegDec. How can I convert it to the WGS48 format for the profile. I used jeep.com but it gave me nothing that looks like (N/S HDDD MM.MM). Thanks for your help and I look forward to geocaching with you all!!!
