  1. NINJA PHOTOSHOPPER THERE! HAHA BUT THE TRAIN IN AREAS WHERE THE TRAIN EXISTS IS PROBABLY A GOOD ONE! I HADNT THOUGHT OF IT BECAUSE OURS IS ONLY A "DINNER" AND BACK TRAIN.
  2. Saw another thread where some one was asking if a certain car would be a good new car for geocaching. This made me think it'd be a great thread to see everyone's cache vehicles! After all we do the caching on bikes/feet, But its our cars that get us most of the way! Some big, some small, some are TB's themselves. But lets see them! Who drives what?! Tell us about them. Post some pictures! Be sure not to share pictures of any TB stickers unless you want them "discovered" Unfortunately, I'm at work so i cannot post pictures of the vehicles we cache in! But we have in our cache freinds group an '08 trailblazer(undermyfeet) for our offroad needs, and an '10 honda fit(caseysmack) as well as an '03 vw gti(mine) for economical needs, because filling up a trailblazer just isnt cheap anymore! I'll be sure post some pictures tonight or tomorrow of them! (I know, i know, what a poor way to start a thread with no pics, but it's pretty slow at work today)
  3. I agree with this last post, the system currently does work fine, but i read some one on here posted something about getting souviniers about favorites on owned caches, thats a good motivation! i mean to the OP i sometimes would love to give a cache 10 favorite points, but i do agree that the scale would drmaticlly flaw in both ways. keeping it one star is best.
  4. started out number number number for me! But noww that i have every cache in the close 3 towns, its a drag with a 20 minute+ drive for a smiley, so we plan out days well now. Though im currently not shooting for 366 days, or the D/T grid, but when i get close enough one year i bet ill try and finish them up. For now i'd be happy to just keep plugging away. I just broke 600 and its been a couple years. Best day i think was 36. which was an awesome day. now the number is still involved, but i like to find one or twoo "AWESOME" caches with lots of favorites, set out for that journey and pick away at its surroundings. its not about the count now, its about the trip as a whole and the sights!
  5. :o :o ^^^^^^ i thought my police story was bad my first, MY VERY FIRST GEOCACHE was a nano at a boat launch. why i chose this i dont know it was just the closest to where we were. but it was close to dark when we started, needless to say someone found it that day so we were determined to find our first cache. we found it via phone lights about 4 feet into the woods off the boat ramp, magneted to a nail( im guessing the nail was there already)but as were signing the log, of course the blues come flying down the boat ramp spot light on us. we proceeded to attempt to explain what we were doing. at the end the officer just looked at us like a cow looks at an oncomming train. blank faced and said "what ever floats your boat guys, im going back to the station to see how many people believe this story myself" I enjoyed his boatlaunch joke and he left. that was deff my most exciting story of geocaching
  6. sorry for caps, didnt realize it was on
  7. iM INTERESTED IN THIS! i WOULD NORMALLY DO A SEARCH AND HAVE IT WITH THE MOST FAVORITE POINTS FIRST, BUT SOME ARE NEW AND AWESOME! MY COUSIN LIVES THERE SO IT IS A POSSIBLE FALL DESTINATION FOR ME.
  8. well i wouldnt get rid of it! i just wanted there to be cleaning AND geocaching, thats why i asked you guys!! so you think the best bet is to have it published the day of? and some of you say to not have one at all? hmmmm both make sense. i did my eagle scout project in '04 in a state park near me, ive been talking to the park ranger about a possible event/project/cleanup soon, but the park is pretty full of caches, so if i do i there i wont have another cache to hide i dont think.
  9. Well i would like it to be a clean up, and then everyone can go find a new cache! i guess it could stay there for 3 months, but i would like the "hunt" to be part of the event also. if this makes sense?
  10. I "attempt" to keep my blog up and runnig for it, but i only post great views and exciting finds, i have 600+ finds now an d only maybe 30 posted but i also took some down because they were hints/spoilers most i try not to post with the area, so users cant use my blog to their advantages, but check it out if you'd like www.charlesfmuntz.tumblr.com and as another poster here stated about flickr that makes me want to go get mine back up and running!!!!
  11. So i have posted a lab cache it was found by a friend, and he posted one for me to go find. That being said, i kind of understand how they worked, and how it was to test the thought of having a time sensitive, or find count sensitive cache. I went to an event this weekend and i have two to attend next weekend. I would like to host my own event soon (undecided where/when) but it would most likely be a cito. Now while i was doing this i thought it would be great to make a "lab cache" for the attendees to find, then have it be gone the next day. Currently this would only be possible by publishing, and archiving the day of the event. Just wanted to here any other ideas on having and "event/onedayfind" completelt open to anything. as this would be my first event hosted, possibly of many. I wanted to hear what you all have to say.
  12. ALL three of you are great, thanks for responding so quick, i understand what youre all saying a nd it all makes sense, i was just so bummed out when i saw that it was empty, after it was so full when i first found it. hmmmmmm
  13. yay or nay? for those who havent ran into them, they regular/large containers full of tb's with the " request" that you only ADD or TRADE so the number of tbs inside can only grow. but this being a request, theres people who just TAKE, shame on them. I saw one near me thought it was great! it had like 17 tb's in it. i went down and i swapped 5 tbs i had for 5 new ones, which i thought was cool. recently, for what ever reason, i looked back at it to see what was in its inventory. empty, straight dust.... it was a premium only which can help keep its longevity, but i was thining of placing my own. a much harder to obtain access to hotel. Possibly a puzzle/multi, solve the puzzle, then travel a regular multi of 9 stages or so. (in attempt to keep only those who truley wish to ADD and TRADE tb's to gain access) what do you guys think? im open to everything, thats why im posting here. also i think this may be my first post. hello all. ~ overurhead360
  14. i know people like collecting them and have their eyes on certain ones. But i was poking around the other day and wanted to find like grab bags. something along the lines of say 2-3 coins for a set price, and the coins are at random. ( if youre having trouble selling them, you could do that! i know i would enjoy that more, then hand selecting what ones! also if youve heard or such a deal from anywhere let me know!
