  1. Congratulations. Here's to 50 more!
  2. let us know how you get on. Maybe go for a cache that everyone else has said was very easy first.
  3. Thanks, didn't work though (I have google earth for mac). Really weird? Would love to be able to use this as my gsak is sitting on my pc back in Australia and I am here in New York so rely on google earth much more to locate caches. I hope someone else has an answer.
  4. I've been getting this for a while. I just started google earth for the first time in ages and the kml file wouldn't work. I downloaded it again and I was told I exceeded my views when I haven't used it at all! I'll now search for the other threads on this but this was the first one that popped up when I searched "google earth exceeded". It would be great if someone could explain what I'm doing wrong?
  5. I just created a list in our profile, cache numbers 1, 50 and 100 but when I view the profile it is one long list rather than separate points. How do I ensure the 'enter' is registered?
  6. Grace, We introduced our cousins to geocaching on the weekend by doing Fluttershy's Prospect Park caches. They have christened themselves Adecam. We live right next to the park and will hopefully be placing one there before we leave to return to Australia in a couple of weeks. Adecam are of the children/teenage variety of cachers, so I hope their interest remains piqued and they will maintain the cache well. Keep your eye out! Dosphoenix
  7. There were a few on the souther barrier islands off Long Island, NY that we looked at this weekend. I don't know that they were ONLY accessible by kayak, but I know a few said it would be much easier by kayak.
  8. Hi Fluttershy, We grabbed these two caches on the weekend and they are both fantastic. We really hope your Birds of the Lullwater cache survives in its spot there. Thanks for going to so much effort and placing such well thought out, well stocked caches. We were excited to grab your blue beetle and took some photos with her yesterday. Although the beetle is logged by Dosphoenix, the new Adecam team member is in all the photos. We emailed you to ask if you would like us to put her in a New York cache or take to Australia in a couple of weeks. We will probably be able to bring her back to America if she is still in my home town when we come back to New York early next year. Hope you log in soon to see this! Dosphoenix
  9. and we too are very excited to see a cache in Prospect Park (as noted in the logs). Will be trying to get to this this weekend.
  10. I could have sworn you could, but now that I've had a look myself, I can't see anything either. Will watch this thread to see if someone else has an idea if its possible.
  11. so what you are all trying to say is that I am actually insane. OK. That's OK. Maybe its on the geocaching Australia site I'm thinking of? I don't know ..... In any event, I think green would be better
  12. Has anyone else noticed the ticks are now red? If a list of cache's came up, on the left hand side, a tick would appear if you'd found it. They used to be green. I think I like green better? Or am I just going slowly insane and need to not be on this website as often?
  13. I'm sorry I can't help you, but I do wish you well in getting your TB back.
  14. awwwwwww shucks we love Boston too! Had a mammoth day on Saturday and picked up 19 caches, still waiting for confirmation to post on some of the virtuals though (nervously waiting *chews nails*, note Central Park Guardian and 4x per annum). Heading down the Jersey Shore this weekend, there's about a million on the drive down there and then up to New England somewhere (probably Vermont) the following weekend. This is excellent! Having lots of fun, loved the caches in NYC. You guys should come out to Australia and start looking for some serious lunch box sized caches! We grow 'em big! We'll have a welcome party!
  15. You come to the US and go to Newark? . Don't talk to me about it! Work is in Newark ... at NJIT, but living in Park Slope is very nice thank you! Did the beginning of a cache in Military Park yesterday, even though it was 5pm I was a little uncomfortable! Couldn't get near ground zero because of the many loiterers, so going back this afternoon. I think that will be my one and only New Jersey cache just cause its on the train line!
  16. I am already here and really appreciate the replies! On my way home from Newark today we are going to try Military Park here. Otherwise I'm in the process of printing your suggestions.
  17. I have a G4 too. I'm not advanced enough to be too clever about it. Although I intend to download Gsak, which will make using the GPS a lot easier. If you have a PDA to interface with the Mac, that will be helpful too to download cache info. I also downloaded google earth and they all work fine. Good luck! Brit
  18. Hi all, We are arriving in NYC on 7 September and leaving on 3 November. I travel to New York a fair bit for work, but this time my husband can come with me. Its his first time to the United States. In between my last trip in Feb/March this year and now, I have acquired my own GPS so can now continue the hunt in the Big Apple. Very excited about this and have already put some caches on my watch list. If anyone has any recommended caches or things that are quirky to New York caching please let us know (I'm guessing more micros than usual!). We live in Park Slope and I'm surprised to see no caches in Prospect Park? Froggy Bottom seems to be the closest? Can't wait to arrive (hope the weather stays warm). Cheers, Brit and Cristian (aka Dosphoenix)
