  1. Thanks I am a retard. I didnt realize that date was wrong, when I restarted the search instead of continue to aquire satellites it solved the problem. Sam
  2. I purchased a Garmin Vista C last January and it has been great but the last two days I have been unable to Acquire any satellites. I have tried three differnt locations with varying, light to moderate, cloud coverage. Its weird because it does not even communicate with the satellites (they dont blink like they usally do when there trying to lock in). I am pretty sure its broken but if any one has a suggestion please shoot. Otherwise I am sending it back to Garmin (still under warranty for 3 more weeks). P.S. I have not used the unit in about 6 weeks but it worked fine before. Sam
  3. Hey guys, I am going to Grayling Michigan this weekend to do some Atving and was wondering if anyone has mapped out some of the trails that are around there. I am relativley new to gpsing, but if you have would it be possible to send me the map that you made of the trails so that I can use them. We are planing on going from Grayling to Gaylord by trails. By the way I have a Garmin Etrex Vista C, with the software that came with it (mapsoure) and also the $100 road guide. Hopefully I can get some trail maps by tomorrow, otherwise I will just buy a map and go from there. Thanks in advance. --------Sam
  4. By the way I am using Mapsourse 6.9.1 with Metroguide 3.0
  5. I went to Alabama recently and took my Vista C on the way, anyways when I got back and loaded the trip to my laptop I noticed that the Tracks were not continous and instead I had ACTIVE LOG 1-55. I was wondering if there is any good way to combine these tracks so that I have one continous flow of information instead of many discrete segments. Thanks in advance. --------------Sam
  6. Well I figured you only live once, so I purchased the Vista, its only $40 and hopefully I will have no regrets. I should be showing my face on this forums quite often now. See ya. SAm
  7. I met to say Legend C vs. Vista C, sorry I worded it a little funny however I have modified the post to reflect a more accurate account of what I meant. ---Sam
  8. Thanks for the input, I did not realize that you have to calibrate the compass every time. I am still unsure of what I am going to do but the post were informative and not yess no answeres. Anyways is amazon the best (cheapest) place to purchase these. I went to price grabbers and it seemed like amazon was pretty competitve with other stores since they have free shipping. Thanks. -----Sam
  9. I am a newbie and have been researching a lot about the Legend C and Vista C. The only difference that I see is that the Vista C has a built in compass and also a bariometer. My question is, are the two features worth it. The only benefit is that I see that intrest me is knowing which direction you are going without walking. l searched the forums a little and found some similar questions but not this one. Is in that inconvient to walk to figure out which direction you are facing. Thanks in advance. -----Sam Garmin Legend C ----$210 Garmin Vista C-------$250
