  1. I do BELIEVE, and that belief paid off last night!

After a busy night of trick or treaters and a son all wound up on sugar, I finally got him to bed and I sat down at my desk to organize some of my coins.

As I was working I just happened to look up at the computer screen and noticed that I had a new email:

"Great Geo-Pumpkin contacting Creacher..." "Oh my!", I thought, was it true, had the Great Geo-Pumpkin actually descended up on a pumpkin patch close to me?

In fact it WAS true, I was directed to one of my caches, where I was told, a present was awaiting my arrival. Quickly, I rounded up the Blind Squirrel, (my neighbor and caching partner) and we headed out to the cache.

We arrived, located the cache and sure enough, there it was, that small token that I was so eagerly seeking. Coin #125 is now safely in my collection!

In it's place I left one of my new Team Geocache hockey jersey coins for the lucky finder.

    THANK YOU, Great Geo-Pumpkin - I Believe!

(If I could find an icon for Signal with a "perma-grin", I would use it here.)

  2.

I had the opportunity to trade for this coin, but turned it down for something else.

Can someone please explain to me what it is that makes this coin so special? I'm relatively new and I'd like to learn about it!

    Thanks,

    Naomi :)

Yeah - what Naomi said. :)

I do not know what makes it special to anyone else, but to me it was just a neat looking coin. :)

  3. I have an extra of this coin available for trade (it is #024):

    OLdweeb.jpg

It is a beautiful 2" diameter coin. The picture does not do it

justice and makes it look like antique gold, but it is more

shiny than the picture shows. :)

If anyone is still seeking it, just make me an offer.

You can check my trading list to see what I may be

seeking or not already in possession of. :)

    Trade made!

  4. Woohoo!!! You can add another pin to the map, #69 has landed in NC!

Wow, this is just too funny that I would receive this awesome coin today. I went to pickup my son from school and he was with a group of kids drawing with chalk on the sidewalk. He was covered in chalk dust and I commented to his teacher how he looked more like Casper the Ghost than my son. B)

The entire way home I was talking about him looking like a ghost and even wanted to take his picture but he would have none of it. As he raced inside to get cleaned up, I grabbed the mail and quickly flipped through it.

One envelope caught my eye and like others I was puzzled at first - I dont remember a trade with this person - then it hit me. Quickly I dashed inside to share the excitement with Casper. B) We ripped open the envelope and just stared at this marvelous coin (then of course we HAD to check out how it glows - WOW B) ).

Thank you CCC! I never expected to get one of these, and you have put a HUGE smile on my face!

One that probably wont go away anytime soon...

  5. More Creepy Crawly stories!!! Gotta love'em! I love coming home at night and reading all these! It sure is a nice way to unwind after a day at the hospital!! Now if I could only unwind around my OWN CREEPY CRAWLY COIN!! lol

Who wait until they get home?!?! I read these at work..all day long!

I have to agree! It is great seeing all the happy folks as each day progresses... B)

  6. The deadline is Nov 7th.

    Got so far:

    Dallas

    Chicago

Arizona (I think, can't remember if something was mentioned online)

I believe there are one or two others being worked on.

Calgary asked for 2009 since they will all be attending GeoRendezVous in Quebec :)

Dallas would be nice, but I REALLY hope someone is working on a proposal for Atlanta. I have to agree with OshnDoc that it would be nice to see the event on the East coast next year, and I think Hotlanta would be an awesome location.

  7. Just a note that my new coin will be traded person to person (except with friends in Canada or overseas) and I will probably activate all of them. Anyone wanting a special number (except 1 - 10) let me know. This coin is still in production.

Hey now! Those turned out fantastic!!! :D

Would absolutely LOVE to work a trade, email has been sent.

  8. I knew it!!!

Those hippies I hired to drive my bus are headed to Amsterdam!

I can just see the Dorito bags and Hagen Daaz containers filling up the back seats.... :D

But hey, I now have over 4,000 miles!

  9. It has been just pouring down rain here for the last few days.

Today as I was driving home and approaching my neighborhood,

I thought the sky looked a little orange...

Could it be? Has the Great Geo-Pumpkin paid me a visit?

I pressed the pedal a little harder and raced to get home.

As I pulled into the neighborhood, I could have sworn I saw a

streak of orange dart around the corner just ahead of me...

My heart began to race ... was it true?

Then, as I turned onto my road, this is what I saw:

    pumpkin-carving-4.jpg

Just as Linus was mocked, my neighbors were mocking my belief,

but my spirits were not dampened oh Great One -

    :rolleyes:I STILL BELIEVE!:D

  10. The item in the middle of res2100's photo is the trackable Canada Micro Puck - Shut Out! with Beaver Dude wearing the Team Geocaching Hockey Jersey colours. This is so XLE - the only folks getting a trackable puck with Beaver Dude in these colours are the folks who signed onto the Team jerseys. All the rest of the micro pucks this year are black, red and white.

The Canadians (like res2100) and International folk got the gift with their coin shipments because the pucks all came here. The US pucks are coming separately once I get them all labeled and mailed.

I wish the US could have received at the same time, because now you're seeing them and thinking you were left out :( . No worries, he'll be in the US eventually :(

Thank you for your very happy comments now you're getting your jerseys; we love the way these turned out too. MrExplorer3 did a fabulous job of getting the initial design created and organizing it all before handing it all over to us.

    Awesome!!!

Chris and Helen - you guys totally ROCK! :(:(
