  1. I wanted to try something new & just finished making these today. I think they'll be my signature token. (I couldn't figure out how to post a photo here so I just made them my personal pic.) What do you think? Happy caching. (LN -Peanut)
  2. I have mostly the same: gel pens, pencil, multi-tool, paper, my phone (which is also my camera), notebook, swag, battery-less flashlight, etc. But I never thought of a mirror - that's a good one. I do have some duct tape which no one has mentioned. I don't wear anything special when going out, just the same as camping - something comfortable & that I don't mind getting muddy. And everything stays in my fabulous Geo Bag so it's all in one spot and contained, I can wear it out and grab & go.
  3. Glad you're doing the right thing & letting it go out into the wild. And I agree with the photo suggestion; I love photos! Both taking my own & seeing photo of other TB (too bad mine isn't getting any photos ). Maybe you could try contacting the owner & asking where you might find the little guy's twin?
  4. Thanks! I just got the TBs transferred to my account. Whoo!
  5. Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Now I have another: I've talked with the old group, & we both feel silly. How do you start the adoption of the TB? (We're just not seeing anything. ) Ok, I lied, one more question (but more a 'just wondering'): People keep talking about collecting stars, I understand they're talking about the rating system. But is there some counter or is it just a personal tracking? Again, thanks, & I'll get going on those bottlecap swags. (Need to come up with a name for them) And I'd consider 2 years a seasoned player. You have experience, tips & advice to give - you're seasoned. I look forward to meeting people of my own style & having some fun with this again. Kimba
  6. Hello Cachers, I first started caching in 2008 with a group of friends who soon lost interest in the game. (I have different theories about why.) Anyway, after some major life changes (and a move to another state), I've decided to sign up with my own account and give the game another try. It's not quite the same by myself (with the occasional help from Momma Nut & Baxter the Beagle), but so far finding a even the little PNGs still give me a kick. But as I look about at all the changes, I've come up with a few questions... 1st) How do I get to see or get notified when new caches are posted? 2nd) When I was with the group, I started a TB in Ireland (and it's still moving). How can I move it to my account? 3rd) A friend of mine makes resin-covered bottlecap jewelry and art. I thought of asking her to make me some personalized pieces to use as swag - with a GC logo on one side and my name & website on the other. But reading all the complaints about "crap swag" has made me leary of doing that (it might be too close to a business card for some). I'd like some thoughts or ideas before I have her go through the work of making them. 4) For the seasoned players: what are some of your favorite changes? (I've seen a lot about how bad it's gotten, but I wonder about the good.) I've noticed some ...*very* passionate players, and I'd like to keep from pissing off the most number of fellow players. (Yes, I know, you can't keep everyone happy and some just want to find things to complain about. But I'd like to try to things right.) That's it for now & my way of introducing myself (it was long, I know). I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks for reading all that, Kimberly
  7. Hi, I'm a newbie (sort of) cacher. Thanks, Ranger Fox, for posting all the different kinds. (I love lists!) I guess I'm a Terrain cacher, Travel cacher, & Heritage cacher (which goes alone with my scrapbooking habit & historian background). I'm not uber-competitive so I don't want to get around the folks who take this way too seriously. And I can't imagine trying a year-long challenge. Mostly, I just really like treasure hunting and this is just plain ole fun! Thanks, Kimba (the Lonely Nut)
  8. Hello, Yes, I'll admit it, I'm a lurker. This isn't the only site I lurk either. But I'm going to introduce myself now & go post somewhere else because I have some questions. So "Hi"! I don't know how much I'll continue posting because, as was said at the beginning here, the anger I see going on. I'd rather just stay out of it and be amused than jump in and become mad myself. My stress level is high enough...this is suppose to be for fun. And that's how I'm going to try and continue. Kimba (the Lonely Nut)
