  1. Hi @South_Stander I'm one of the three who take it in turns to organise the Leeds Drink and Chat events. These events attract a fairly decent hard core of attendees these days, but we are far from being a clique. We started the events up because we wanted to put faces to the names of local cachers that we were seeing in logs in the area, rather than a group of mates who wanted an easy way of getting our numbers up, so being inclusive to new cachers in the area (or in your case people coming back to it following a bit of a break) is a big part of what these events are about. Appreciate it is daunting walking into a room with a big group of people you have never met before. We usually end up split across multiple tables these days, which would probably soften that feeling. If you have work commitments, no problem, there will be another one organised at a different venue for the following month. I'll make sure one of us wears something easy to point out this time around - most likely a purple t shirt or hoodie, which I'm sure one of us could explain the relevance of at some point. To answer your original question at least partly, there are a few cachers active in the North Leeds area that I'm aware of, although my knowledge mostly covers South Leeds. The usual suspect at Leeds Drink and Chat events cover South and North West Leeds, Wakefield, Morely, Pontefract, Halifax, Kirklees and probably a few places I've missed off. I would recommend that as a good place to start for getting back in the loop, but I am bias. There is an annual event at Yeadon (Mad March Meet) which usually encourages some of those who have been caching longer than I have out of the woodwork, possible even some people you may remember from back when you were originally caching. I can't admit to being very active in this forum. I also am not a fan of Facebook, but a lot of the discussion does now take place on there and is my main reason for being back on there after a break of a good few years. If you don't want to get involved in that though, events are probably the way to go. I've ended up on many caching ventures due to the discussions had at events and it's a good way of finding out about what people in the area are planning and what new caches are worth a visit.
  2. I believe I've got a bug report which relates to the side bar of the new map. I've tried to digest this forum and I think this is the right place to post this and I've not spotted a duplicate of it recently in my half hour of searching, but I could be wrong. When logging from the map, I noticed in the side bar which lists the last 5 logs that a local cacher had found the cache before me, then I noticed that their profile photo was upside down. Out of intrigue, I tracked down another cache they had found to see the same result. I then checked they had not flipped it themselves, and it seemed not to be the case. Screen shots of behaviour added. Using Chrome 73 on Windows 10.
  3. Thanks for all the replay guys. I've had a play based on what Moun10Bike said and this was indeed the case. I'd assumed how the search worked incorrectly. I assumed it wad like a standard PQ in that it prioritised the nearest. I shall make sure from now on I'm returning a few caches less than the maximum number in my search to get them all. In the end I did just put the letterboxes on manually, but there's a chance I had others missing as well. You live and learn.
  4. Hi Moun10Bike, Unless I've fundamentally misunderstood how the route PQ works, this shouldn't be the case. If you look at the series mentioned, it straddles the M1, which is part of the route. My search is returning caches from up to 2km away of types traditional, unknown, multi and so on. The way I understood this search working is that the nearest caches will be selected first of all types, and it would work its way gradually outwards till either the length or the number has maxed. In which case the letterboxes ~100m off route should be returned over traditionals and multis ~2000m off route. If you look on the map view you should see that the series should be returned even if I stick the constraints down to 300m and first 100, it really is that close to the route. (I have picked up a fair few caches along that corridor for what it is worth.) Thanks, Sam.
  5. Hi, I ran a PQ today, of a route I'm planning on traveling, and I noticed that no Letterbox Hybrids were returned in the preview search. I uploaded the PQ onto my GPS and there are indeed no Hybrids on there. This route passes right over a series completely of Hybrids (GC369XP...), and should pull up one Hybrid near Sheffield Train Station (GC5BVEG). The details of my PQ are below: The Search is a route from Leeds to Sheffield(UK) 5km search radius 301 Caches on either side Any Cache Type Any Container Type I Haven't Found Is Enabled Placed Any Time (No attribute selections) Download .gpx format Include Name in Query Thanks, Sam
