  1. Let me play devil's advocate for those who claim them to be abandoned: Do you feel the same way about your caches? You're leaving a box out in the woods, so what gives yo uthe right to still claim ownership of it? What if the next cacher decided to move it, change the hide style, or even take it? Wouldn't you be up in arms about "your" cache? I don't want to derail the topic to talk about caches instead of coins, but food for thought.
  2. We've now closed several threads about the sales of Moun10Bike coins and this one is heading the same way. That topic has been asked and answered a number of times now and Moun10Bike's opinions are now well known (use the Search feature if you are not sure). This thread was opened to discuss why the coins are considered so special, etc. and NOT to discuss another sale of hsi coins. Further comments and discussions around the selling og Moun10Bike coins will cause this thread to be closed as well. Now, does anyone want to comment on thier history or add thier $.02 as to why they are special? If the OP has gotten thier question answered, I suggest asking further related questions or locking the thread. - FSM
  3. As far as are you "allowed" to do this - meaning do the rules of the game allow you to? Yes. You found the coin, but chose not to move it.
  4. The prices appear to be going down again. Take a look at all the coins (mostly personal) that are getting thier threads bumped with "still some left", "I miscounted and there are a few more available", "price dropped to", "why aren't my coins selling", etc. and you can see that they are not selling the way they used to. Months ago ANY coin sold out in minutes or hours. Now, unless it's a really cool design, concept, etc. it's harder to sell. Look at the Original Stash coins - a great concept (IMO) and it still took a few days to sell out. Demand is going down and pricing should follow.
  5. It has, that's why it's being brought up. I would hope that the coins I've put out stay where they are. When I put a few more out, I sincerely hope that they are welcomed and kept with the intent of the gift - but sadly some won't. For those that have them - I hope you cherish them for what they are.
  6. 'nuff said. No more threads on this topic. The owner of the coin has stated his opinion AGAIN so there is no need for further speculation.
  7. Bad sock! Back, back you go! (insert sound of whipping wet noodle here) OT: Nice coin - what happened to the Jackelope from previous designs?
  8. I agree. Closing this thread with the same information that was used last time: Lest anybody think that we (the Moderating Team) are acting unfairly - Moun10Bike has contacted the Moderating Team to inform us that he has not consented to this sale (nor any sale of his coins). This should clear up any speculation on the ownership of these coins as well as the guidelines surrounding the advertisement of the selling of these coins. - Your Friendly Neighborhood Pastafarian
  9. Those who have chosed to speak Signal's name out loud will soon hear the sounds of the black helicopters approaching . You've been warned.
  10. When you logged the TB did you choose "retrieve from <cache name>" from the dropdown menu?
  11. Have you guys seen this thread? Haven't tried it yet myself, but it sounds like it will do what you want. I'm going to play with it tomorrow.
  12. I'll add a slap with a wet noodle to the raspberry. I hate having to go back online and search for the right site to activate coins. A sticker on the sleeve, etc. makes life much easier.
  13. <Official message> With more and more pins being developed to go hand in hand with the geocoins, a decision was made by TPTB to incorporate pins into the guidleines so there is no confusion on what is and isn't allowable. The guidelines have been updated in Rothstafari's pinned thread at the top of these forums but here is the addition: Feel free to ask questions if ya got 'em. </Official message> We now return you to your regularly scheduled drama. - FSM
  14. As a moderator in these coin forums I'm demanding 10% of the profits for my efforts to keep this thread civilized. If it is not delivered by 4/15 I will rain down upon thee with a flurry of sauce - the likes of which you have never seen before. This will be followed up with an increase in the number of pirates that populate the Earth. Good luck on your sale. Actually, that is a bit funny. edit: typo
  15. Let's be clear - nobody "called in the mods". Eartha and I spend a fair amount of time in here. Doesn't mean that you (nor anybody has to take the bait). I'm not taking the bait. I assume this was in good fun, so let's let it be. The moderators are here to keep things civilized, not to be looked upon as enforcers or anything else. We have player accounts too and just want to keep things to a dull roar, ok? Now, does anybody else have any selling advice for the OP?
  16. Yes, let's keep things non-personal so as to avoid the need for me to fling the pasta sauce.
  17. Let's keep the coin discussions in the Coin Thread please.
  18. Let's keep this about the coins please. I think enough has been said about the creator at this point.
  19. Your best bet is to read the pinned topics at the top of this forum. They will tell you just about everything you need to know about what companies to work with (that work with Groundspeak), what you can sell on this site, etc. That should give you a lot of useful information to help you get started. Then, I'm sure that the folks here can answer any further questions you have. - FSM
  20. D'oh! This coin is trackable - sorry for the comment and the link I removed. I'll put that back. I was reacting to a reported post and couldn't see the trackable part. The noodly appendage was a bit quick on the draw....hehe.... (slinks off). FWIW - I wasn't the one who locked the thread, though! (Tries to save face...)
