    NJ Newbie :)

make sure you prepare and check for ticks afterwards as well. If you check in Walmart in the camping section they have the 2 types of bug sprays that will help the most. for your skin you want deet at 20% or more and for clothing you want permethrin (only spray on clothing/footwear/camping gear etc) it will last several washes. do not put permethrin on your skin as it will not work as a repellent. as with any chemical if you've never used that product before perform a small test. with the skin spray do a small area first and see if you have a reaction to it. for the clothing I would say spray a wrist band or something small and wear it for awhile and keep track to see if you have any reaction.

    Difficulty 5

I've been skipping over the puzzle ones right now, because they make me feel stupid lol. Thank you all for your input! Im starting to think 5's aren't that important lol
  3. Hello everyone! I am fairly new to geocaching, and I've gotten the hang of it recently, so I've been going nuts trying to find the time to go out and "treasure hunt" as my daughter puts it. All of my caches so far have had a difficulty of 2.5 or lower, and I'm curious if I'm able to do a special search for difficulties of 5? I hear it's a big deal when you find a cache of that difficulty, so I want to try. Please let me know!
  4. Welcome aboard! I'm a newbie too, and it is ABSOLUTELY ADDICTING. Good luck out there hunting!

    I'm New

I'm fairly new to geocaching as well, my husbands family got us started on it. My main piece of advice is to create a kit before you go. You don't want to head out into the woods without a little "back up" as I put it. I got a bag and put my caches in there, a zip lock for the stuff I collected, extra zip locks just in case I come across a cache that needs a new one, some pens, gloves (because I know sticking your hand in a cobweb and dirt filled tree stump is not your favorite thing in the world), first aid kit, gardening shears, tweezers, and the list goes on and on. You'll never know what you need out there! I realized yesterday when we went, that bug spray needed to be added to our kit. Especially with our cold weather disappearing and the bugs starting to come out.
