I would appreciate hearing about anyone else who uses an OWL in any form of signature item. I love owls and have two or three different sig items that incorportate an owl. (See my avatar.) I've already traded for one of Galahad's hand-carved owls. I'd like to hear of any others so I can collect the complete set. --SirGerald

Hi fellow geocoin collectors! I'd like to add my own personal geocoin to the mix. I don't have the design nailed down yet but it's coming along. The front will be a 3D engraving featuring my new signature owl and sword. I'm still working on the back design. Other features will be an unusual shape and unique numbering, though it won't be GC.COM trackable. I expect the cost to be right at $5 per coin, plus shipping charges (which should be minimal). I'll update this initial post with future updates and design images as they develop. This purpose of this thread is threefold: 1) just to see what kind of response I can expect from the collecting community; 2) to see how feasible it will be to pay for production with paid pre-orders; and 3) to gauge how many coins I should plan on producing. If you expect to order one or more (when I get to that point) please post your pre-order expectations here. I'm not taking paid orders yet.

I'm in the same buying group as GrandpaKim (See post above). We would definitely be interested in buying a few coins if you were to sell some of them. It's perfectly kosher to sell personal coins. You can do whatever suits your fancy. --SirGerald

I am a member of a recently formed group of (currently 16) geocoin collectors in Utah. Our group is named the COin Order Liaison, or COOL for short. --SirGerald

This post has two puposes: 1) Cancel any previous post by me. My original post asking for 35 bronze coins and a dozen silver coins has been replaced by a more recent post by Redwing_dave in behalf of our COOL coin ordering group. 2) Put in my individual order for 1 silver coin (assuming the 2 coin maximum still applies to group orders, as well).

I made one of the early posts that mentioned a Utah buying group. One of the later posts, by Redwing_dave, also mentioned our COOL buying group. They are one and the same. You can cancel the number I mentioned early on (35, I think). I believe most all of our members have already cancelled their individual orders. Sorry about the confusion. --SirGerald

Too Late! We've already used the COOL name. Our new geocoin buying group in Utah is known as the COin Order Liaison, or COOL. So you'll just have to use another name that's not so COOL, OK? --SirGerald

In my opinion, if the GOWT members pay dues to the group and the group is subsidizing the production of the coins, then by all means give them a break on the price of the coin. Otherwise, I don't see the reasoning. BTW, our COOL buying group will be placing an order whenever the time comes. --SirGerald

Yes!!! Another great looking coin to collect. Our "COOL" buying group will be ordering around 45 coins. (This includes a couple of folks who have already expressed interest, separately.) --SirGerald
