Yes I have. I was having other issues and they replaced the unit for me. Both units lock up the same way. I need to contact Garmin and complain agin. I was hoping for a software rev. They have a beta version out for a few months but I have not upgraded yet. I am waiing on the full release.

Yes mine does it all the time. Always when working with radio off, and nearing a waypoint. I usually have to re-calibrate the compass when this happens. try holding in the power button for a long time, mine will usually turn off without removing the battery this way. I am getting VERY frustrated with this!

I have been using the 530 since Christmas, it is my first GPS. I had this happen the first time I used it, I thought it was me that caused it to freeze/lockup. It has happened 3 more times since. I have always been able to turn it off by holding in the power switch for 15-20 seconds. I have been unsuccessful contacting Garmin about this issue through their web site. I am using the latest version of software from Garmin’s web-site. I suggest you contact them also so we can get them to fix this for us. Lou

I received a Rino 530 for Christmas. It is the first GPS I have ever used and I am getting the hang of it. I have a few simple questions about this unit that maybe some one could answer for me. I have looked all over the manual and can’t find the answers. 1. What screen displays the temperature? It is listed as a feature, I can find where to change units between C and F but cannot find where this is displayed. 2. Is there a way to save power on settings? Things like amount of back-light, radio always off, on power up…? 3. Does anyone know of web-sites where I can learn more about this unit Or one very similar? 4. I asked these questions on Garmin’s web-site, I received an e-mail back as undeliverable. Does any one know how to reach Garmin? Thanks for any help I get, Lou
