  1. I have noticed that when I log a cache or trackable, if I don't pay attention to the date, it may default to a few days before. I am not sure why that is, but I noticed it when one of the trackables I moved showed that I retreived it after I placed it in another cache, which is clearly not possible. I can edit the log entries, but in this particular case I cannot remember the dates now. So, I will just leave it. Yesterday, the four GeoCaches that I found were logged as a few days before. So, in that case, I edited the entries to reflect the correct date. Why when you log an entry, it doesn't automatically put the current date? Perhaps I need to close my browser more often? What is the reason for this? I am using the Chrome browser.
  2. TYTEWR! (Thank you to everyone who replied!) Edward
  3. LOL! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha! I am going to remember that one! Thank you!
  4. The only acronym that I understand thus far is FTF (first to find). I know there are MANY others, like TFTC, but I really don't understand what that one is or any of the others. Please provide me with a list or at least let me know what your favorites are here. Thanks!
  5. I just want to say how much I like that art card and that it would be a real treasure. THUMBS UP! (oh, this is not YouTube? sorry!)
  6. One last question.... If I want to make my own trackables, where do I "buy" the block of 10 tracking codes? I don't see anything like that on the geocaching website. Again, thank you for the help!
  7. Super! Thank you very, very much! Things are becoming clearer now!
  8. Ok, let me make my question clearer.... It appears that the difference between a Travel Bug and a GeoCoin is just what they look like because they serve precisely the same purpose. Correct me if necessary. What I still do not understand is this... Suppose I buy a GeoCoin. Does it come with a unique ID on it already? Assuming that it does, do I pay additionally to start tracking that number? How is it that the GeoCaching website already know this this number is "taken" by the object purchased (assuming it comes from a 3rd party vendor). Suppose I create my own trackable from my own materials. How does the ID get generated? Thank you so much for answering! Edward
  9. ok! Now, I am learning something.... so, you BUY the tracking number. Suppose I buy a trackable coin or bug. Is there a number on it? Is that already "bought"? Or does registering it require an additional purchase. Thank you so much for clarifying this stuff. Edward
  10. Questions: What is the difference between a GeoCoin and a Travel Bug other than that one looks like a bug and the other looks like a coin? Can you make your own trackable say by laminating a card or something, and if you do, is it a bug or a coin? Thank you! ec1warc1 Read my background statement below if you care. I am a newbie. Background: I am very new to this GeoCaching thing. I got into it by a complete fluke. I was reading a review on a GPS I wanted to buy, and someone said they bought their GPS to do GeoCaching. I said to myself, "What the heck is that?" So, I am completely stoked. This is like WheresGeorge on steroids. I have been doing wheresgeorge for years and I love it. I am also very fond of YouTube. I travel a lot for my work, and I spend a lot of weekends in foreign lands looking for SOMETHING to do. I have been making YouTube videos for about a year, and that activity is fun - loads of fun. This just looks like its going to be more fun!
