  1. Congratulations Geo.Error on winning the cointest. And thanks slowdownracer for the cointest and giving us the chance to get to know each other a little better. Hope to hear from some new wooden nickel traders soon.
  2. 1. Matt Kenseth 2. Jeff Gordon And I thought I was close with Ryan Newman cuz' he drives a dodge sponsered by samsung and is racing in the Samsung 500 today. Dang-it!!!
  3. Did I hear some one say they had lottery numbers? Like you guys have been saying. Sometimes the best thing about these cointest is that with every one we participate in we all get to know each other a little better and it brings us closer as friend. I am glad there are geocoins like GATOULIS said. Because without them I would not be here in this forum meeting great people and making friendships, no matter how long distance they seem to be. I would hope that if the day ever came where some one from the forums here were in my neck of the woods they would give me a shout and we could try to meet and visa vers. We also know that everyone here has a great sense of humor and we can all agree and it has been said, that without geocoins we would not have met. And without saying it like fairyhoney did....post #214 says it. So...Thanks avroair for this cointest, If not for the coins then for the friendships that were made stronger and better because of it!!!
  4. Me too. The time in the forums is 3 hrs bhind what it is in Minnesota. Now I understand why they say you live in the Future GATOULIS. Thats pretty neat!
  5. Ya know there fairyhoney, it could have been a old boot. I like to think it was a fish though just for stories. Plus it makes me feel better thinking it was a fish. What time tonight does this cointest end? When do we vote on which one we like the most? Just curious!
  6. I really got to thinking about what I would do if geocoins did not exist. All the funny jokes aside and the far fetched ideas of snow makers and tree houses. I'll start with a short story. It happened about one weekend ago today. To be exact it was last saturday at 5:24pm. I was Ice fishing up on Lake of the Woods. One of mt fishing poles is rigged with a bobber and a little glow jig 12 inches off the bottom. My other rod is set up for jigging. I can not tell you exactly what I was using (Top Secret) but I can tell you that it was a blue glowing rattle jig. I was bouncing it off the bottom and bringing it up 12-24 inche off bottom and then back down. I was watching my vexilar and my jig came off the bottom and up from the bottom came a fish. Now, using a vexilar only lets you see something is there but you do not know what. So..... as my jig dropped to the bottom again it HIT! WHAMMM, I set the hook with a quick jerk and it was game on. Me against what ever was at the other end of my line. Line was spinning of my spool and the fight was just getting good, when......SNAP, my line went limp. Nooooo. There went my magic lure. The only one that I jig with that I had that much faith and confidence in that seem to give magical fishing powers of the gods. GONE. I immediatly dove across the fish house to grab my Ice fishing jigs. I scramble to find another one of these mystica,l rattling, jigging, glow-in-the-dark, forever my favorite lure. I could have cried.... EMPTY, completly EMPTY. NO MORE OFF THEM!!!!!! I sat by my hole in the ice staring down through the ice for what seemed like an hour. Wondering how big the fish was that did this to me. Fishing was not the same after "The Event" but I did make it through with another boring fish lure. Yea, I still caught a few nice ones but the lure I had SOOOOOO nuch faith in, was no more. I will be doing all I can until next Ice fishing season to get at least a half dozen of these magical Ice fishing jigs. May the force be with me in my bait store searches.
  7. Im currently working on a wooden nickel for us, it not going as good as I'd like, but I'm getting there. Seems my artistic ability is challenged at times, LOL! Let ya know when I'm done and get one out to ya. I'll have to look at my collection some time today but I think that we did trade awhile back. But....I am all for new edditions. I also have a sig item that I make out of a small slat of wood. Roughly 1 1/4x 2 1/4 inches. I burn a silly little design on both sides. Let me know when you get yours done like you said and I'll trade ya for it! -Dardevle-
  8. After I made my guess I looked into things and realized I just might have made the right guess. I looked at the race for sunday and went from there. Is there just not as many cachers making wooden nickels any more? I know I have traded a few but alot of the ones I have I find in caches. Seems I got into trading nickels a little late. Kinda like the gold rush but with Wooden nickels. For those I have traded with I thank you for the trades, for those I have not, WELL, lets trade!
  9. I know that these are not legal in Minnesota so if there were no geocoins I could afford the gas money to get to North Dakota for some bottle rockets. Now, I know I could go to Wisconsin, But why???
  10. 1. Ryan Newman 2. Jeff Gordon What Race on Sunday?
  11. You know what GATOULIS, if I had the money I would love to be able to take you and Geo.Error out for a day of Ice fishing and a night of food and drinks. Although you might have to fight my wife for some Ribs, they were goooooood. I guess you never know where life will take a person so you never know what might happen. We may end up on each others door step some day. Any thing is possible. Not very likely, but not impossible. I would like to go to that Ice palace to and drink vodka and start drilling holes in the Ice and try to fish. You never know what you night catch there.
  12. If I did not buy coins I could cook more of this. Inside the grilled peppers is spanish rice, dices tomatoes, sauteed green onions with 12 cloves of Garlic. (Thats for fairyhoney) and 5 strips of bacon. The ribs are PORK (Thats for mousekakat) All four of the slabs have a different rub on them. I rubbed them and then smoked them for 7hrs with Hickory wood chunks. Well, gotta go eat! This is what I'd do more of if I had more time and money!
  13. I got a bushwackers pirate sword today. I really wanna thank ThePetersTrio for making it possible for me to get one with out having to deal with round two of the sales. I love the coin and it was extremly thoughful of you to offer this coin to me at cost. Thanks again. You are a very kind person. -Dardevle-
  14. Sounds good to me. Thanks for allowing a 2nd guess today. 1. Kasey Kahne 2. Jeff Gordon
  15. Thanks for the hints on storage. My wife and I are going to a Minnesota Twins Baseball game on sunday so I'll be near a office supply store so I'll be able to stop in and check some stuff out. Of coarse ther are a few bait stores with some cool Ice fishing jigs in the area too so I gotta stop and get a few more jigs first. If I have money left then I'll stop by the office supply store.
  16. OUCH! Here's the rules - 1. Only one guess at both questions per cacher per day. More than one guess will disqualify you but only for that day, you can try again the next. 2. First one to answer both questions correctly gets the coin and patch. 3. I will add hints later if necessary. I almost jumped the gun too!
  17. A bowling ball would be great. It seems that my wifes family and us always get out and do some bowling a few times a year. We always have a great time a talk about doing it more often. I think if every one had their own balls we would go more often.
  18. I really like hearing what others do with there wooden nickel. It gives me great ideas. Right now mine are all in a zip lock bags. I really need to get a book to put them in. What do I use and where can I get one or two? I would like to be able to look at my collection more often and with out "dumping" out my bag! Any help would be GREAT! -Dardevle-
  19. HA-HA-HA-HA! Thats awesome GATOULIS. It really made me laugh. Thank you! I needed that this morning.
  20. I would like to build a tree house for my daughters. I think this would be just about perfect. It would keep me feeling good when they were out playing in it.
  21. 1. Michael Waltrip 2. Jeff Burton Any body that I have not traded wooden nickels with, shot me an E-mail and I'd love to trade! PLEASE I need my nickel fix!
  22. Hey GBOTS, does that lake there freeze over? Gotta be able to Ice fish! If it does, well, it would be the perfect spot.
  23. I would like a nice fire pit like this one. There are some nice benches plus room inbetween for those who like there own chairs. We have a nice little pit now but this would be my ideal one. Our daughter just loves it when we have bon-fires and friends come over. Gotta have hot dogs and marshmellows.
  24. I would really like a hot tub. That way when my geocaching friends come over for Beer and Beef brisket we could hop in the hot tub afterwards.
