  2. Hello all, Here is the deal... I have a Garmin Etrex Legend, it has been awesome until the past 3-4 months. I turn it on and the screen goes black. then a few seconds later it has a line through it, then a few moments later, it works... finally after a minute or two it is a blank screen. I have no clue what has happened... I have never dropped it, however I did leave it in the center console for a few weeks, But nothing else. Can any of you "geogeeks" help me I am truly "geodumb".   3. Bikehead here from Allegan(where the heck is Allegan), Michigan. Born and raised in Jenison, Jaoined the Navy, and came back home. Sorry folks The Navy Rules... You Other Branches just have to suffer. With second Best. Only at 70, But I am slowly workin' my way up. I am a true Cali' Cacher though. Gotta Love it! I see true potential for some fantastic Hides in Michigan though.
  4. As I hold my GPS to my ear, I talk and pretend to carry on a conversation... People usually stand there, and I talk until they leave. Too bad I don't even own a cell phone... He he he!

  6. Is bikehead your first name or last name? Well, I am not quite sure... first-last-middle I am in the military, for the past bit, I have been answering to just about anything. So bikehead just feels right. I am addicted to cycling, I ride everyday of the week, so much so, I had planned to ride from San Diego, ca to Allegan, Mi, it was going to take me 30 days. But do to unforseen circumstances, I chose to wait a while and fly back to san diego, and ride the trip later. Anyone interested in touring? I am planning to ride around Lake Michigan in June. Planning on it taking 7-8 days.pick up some caches along the way.

  8. Hello All! I have been away for a while, Sorry not to have been more vocal about my disapearance. But I am back for three weeks. After That, I will permanently be relocating to Michigan N42' 31.685 W085'50.665 on 06 February07. I have a couple Caches I have placed through out san diego, and I will not be able to keep them up anymore, Does anyone want to take them over for me. If so, Please email me ok? I Hope the cache wars go as expected this year, I am just sorry I will not be here to participate. Sincerely, I would like to say Thanks, to everyone for showing me an awesome sport.   15. I don't mean to be a BUGGER, But I am new to geochaching... In fact so New I found my first one today! Although very simple, I was so excited I posted it in Congrats forum in the uk on accident. I am sorry for intruding on your conversation, But I was hoping for some tips on getting closer range with my gps. (garmin etrex legend) can you offer suggestions. Thanks for your help.

Gongrats to me!!! as stuppid as this sounds, I found out about Geocaching possibly 8 years ago, in a time magazine. since then , I have been wanting to get started, and I have, this week I purchased a Garmin Etrex Legend, and I found my first cache, it was a a train in La Mesa, California appropriately named, "the little engine that could". and I was successful. it was so cool to see how everything works. Tomorrow I am off to find A little more difficult kinda' Cache. Thanks a lot. Bikehead
