  1. I don't hang out on the forum much and don't think I've ever commented. My 5c worth on the drop in caches logged and placed. From a personal point of view, 2017 was hectic. I literally had times when I was starting to show withdrawals, but just didn't always have time to cache. Work was busier, kids getting bigger so have more sports on weekends, the easy unfound park and grabs have become less and so on. I know there are a few other PE cachers who have said the same kind of thing. As for placing caches, the busier one's life gets the less time you also have to do maintenance. I would never encourage somebody to just get out there and place caches for the sake of placing them, no matter how good their hides. Especially if they're not experienced CO's who realise how much time doing maintenance could take if your caches aren't all park and grabs. And even then. I've seen some experienced CO's who have caches deactivated for way too long because they just don't have time and forget about them. I've got to be honest that I'm guilty there as well. And then lastly. I think we all need to be encouraged to get more newbies caching. Because if we don't our older caches will get less and less finds and then only by visitors and not locals as they will all have done them at some stage or another. Think I'll do this again some time. ;-)
  2. One of my pet frustrations on Geocaching is the fact that if you adopt a cache that you have previously found it doesn't show up as a star on the map but rather stays a smiley. I have been told by fellow cachers to delete the find and just change it to a "note" so that it removes the smiley and show a star. I have considered this but quite a few of my milestone caches (100, 500, 1000, etc) have been special caches and if I delete finds then those special caches won't reflect as such. I would love to have all my owned caches, including those I have adopted, show as stars on the map. I could just archive all the adopted caches and place and publish new once under my name, but some of them are up to 8 years old already and I don't really want to do that. Would it be very difficult for a Groundspeak programmer to play around with this?
  3. I find it frustrating that caches I have found before and have subsequently adopted show on my map as a smiley and not as a star. Some cachers say I have to delete my logs but as I have found them before adopting them I feel that its just right keeping them as finds. I have contacted Groundspeak about it before and they have promised to look into it, but I don't think its really a priority so the status quo hasn't changed. I just want to be able to glance at the map and see where all my caches are and then to click on them from there.
  4. I have adopted a number of caches from a cachers who has moved away. I did all the caches some time ago already which means that they were smileys on my map. Now that I have adopted them they still show as smileys on my map and not as stars like my other caches do. How do I make them to show up as a star without deleting my logs and thus loosing the finds?
