  1. I've heard about the bots for a week now and last night it hit 12 of my caches here in Md. along with dozens of others. It seems to just be logging in order of the GC #s. Wasn't there some site or person dedicated to removing geocaches named Forest Defenders or something like that a while back? I don't get on the forums much so I know I'm out of any loop.
  2. I was out on the first day and our group grabbed 20. Even though we didn't stop and admire every location as much as we should have; every cache was very nice and well stocked. Between the cache pages, the locations and the caches themselves this is one of the best series to tackle.
  3. Could you imagine geocaching there today when this happened? Druid Hill Park Gang Meeting The park is great but the neighborhoods surrounding it are not. Currently the Bloods Crips and Hells Angels, MS13 have shown up in the area the last couple of years.
  4. Thanks. it worked for me. Glad I didn't delete some.
  5. The Frogman is correct. In mapsource, select CN from the drop down menu in the tool bar, then select all the map tiles using the map select tool. You will see the selected map segments listed in the map box on the left side of the screen. Use the drop down list to switch to Topos and select the map tiles you want to download. These will be added to the list of maps on the left side of the screen. Either copy this set of maps directly to your 2Gb card using a card reader (I don't have one, so someone else will have to explain this) or download directly to your GPS using the USB interface. Remember, you are limited to 2025 maps ( or there abouts) and you will want to leave some memory for track logs. You can't fit all the Topos and all the CN maps on a 2Gb card because of the tile limit. You have to switch between map sets (CN or Topo) manually. From the map screen on the GPS, hit MENU, toggle over to the "i" and hit MENU again, then select Hide City Navigator. Then the Topo maps will be displayed. Good Luck! thanks for this info. you guys are awsome. I couldn't figure how to switch back and forth.
  6. Here is a spot: GCRCVZ but it's by the Pentagon.
  7. Even though the theif is probably a cacher and reading this we would like to know if this is isolated to the VA,Md, PA area. They spent a lot of gas money to steal not only the bugs but also the containers and if they couldn't get them, they ripped them apart. Seems like an anger issue. So who did we piss off?
  8. The event for me was finding all the caches and visiting the differant parts of Md. that I would never have even knew were there. Yes it was very challenging and cost me some gas $ to complete...but it was my choice and well worth it. I was still kinda new to caching when I did it. I got to meet more people during the hunt for these caches than I would've just searching for regular ones. Thats most of the fun. The other part of the fun was following everybodys progress and their stories of finding them on the MGS forums. If all the events and caches were the same this would be a boring sport and probably fade pretty quickly. Just my .02
  9. You two should go out to dinner. This thread is great. I love the entertainment. I really like the fact that we've heard from all parties involved including the person who pulled the cache and now is a geocacher (welcome Watercop). You couldn't ask for better drama out of an adventure.
  10. What else would the Eagleblazer drive? Having fun seeking"Off The Road Again" cache Or if the snow gets too deep....................
  11. Got mine on the 11th. It's AWSOME! Thanks

  13. Thanks for the coin. It is very cool.
  14. I'm in for 4, 1 for me and 3 for caches
  15. Came to the forums tonight to see if there were any updates on some coins I paid for. ..Must be in the air. I live and work by Green Spring Valley Hunt Club in Md. I see and hear the hounds out excercising all the time.
  16. WOOHOO I came to the forums tonight to see if there was any progress on these and what do ya know, it must have been in the air.
  17. Hey Bone, somehow I managed to get one of each. Thanks
  18. Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see it.
  19. I think the whole password thing is a joke, so in a word no. If you are interested in having a coin show up when they go on sale. If you are still unable to get one and you don't have anything to trade contact me after the sale and I'll sell you one for the same price as the ones on GCS's site. I do realize that some people want their friends to have one of their coins, so why not just sell them one after the sale if they couldn't buy one then . Like it says in the coin description this isn't really a personal coin. As you have probably noticed the coin has no geonick on it and it's not called bone1977's personal coin. I have yet to see a skull-shaped coin, so here is one. I hope you guys enjoy this coin as much as I do, because it turned out way better than I thought that it would. Kudos to you Geocoinstore. Bone1977 I couldn't agree with you more on the password thing. Thats why I asked. The last time I tried to get a coin from the geocoinstore I waited for hours for the password thing to end. Long passed the time they went on sale. Thank you for the offer and I will let you know if I can't. The skull shape is very cool. Eaglblazer
